I can’t seem to get away from driving my pickup, it’s just too useful when you need it. But for a family type vehicle it’s hard to beat those small/mid SUVs
I'd love to get a pickup in the next few years
Fortunately my father only lives 20 minutes from me and has a little tacoma that I can borrow when push comes to shove.
I recently got a Diesel F350 at a bargain price.
The Ford 6.0 Diesel motor is much maligned for it's numerous recalls. But, I got a 2006, the last year of the motor, when the kinks were worked out.
Ford 6.0 diesel can be purchased for 25% less than other equivalent Diesel alternatives.
I get 12 mpg around town, and 22 mpg on the interstate, which is fantastic for a 1 ton truck.
I have only ever owned a Honda civic. It has lasted me 16 years now.
@micbwilli bastard, living in a non-salt belt state.
Never would last up here lol. How many miles?
@Ecarttev I dont see a reason why your engine would make noise when turning. My thought is when you turn your rotor is scraping.
I think it has about 250k now. Only maybe thing I ever did to it was replace the motor mounts. I have never changed the oil on time or taken good care of it.
Gotta say my 07 TL which I drive now or my 2001 grand Marquis thing had over 200k when I handed it off to a friend he only lost it because some lady crashed into it parked totaled the whole car. At that point it had close to 300k
Zero major issues just change the fluids and tires
2002 Chrysler sebring, 2005 Chevy cavalier ls, 2013 dodge avenger r/t. Out of those cars my current avenger is probably the best. I only have ti change the oil once a year, its muscley, only doubled the miles on it. Started at 39k almost at 80k. Got me from WI to VA/PA nonstop with zero issues
But I'm going to e7ther get a Tesla or a truck next. Winters suck with fwd cars
@Auf WI @Papa Pizzagate I had my oil changed, and it hasn't happened again.
Pretty strange, make sure keep up on your fluids
@Auf WI Exclusively American cars?
@Papa Pizzagate All the cars Ive owned so far have been, the other 2 are no longer with us.
But I do like Dodge vehicles
My 2wd Ford Ranger was pretty cool because I bought it for $2k and just abused it. I would take it mudding, and when drove on a wheel with a shredded spindle bearing for like a month
It’s still very early on in my ownership of the vehicle, but this 94 Camry is reliable AF. Just crossed 290k.
Drove to Utah and back in it after I flushed the transmission the second time and other than a shift solenoid E error code, ran flawlessly. Started up in the cold pretty well.
I’m going to avoid buying a car later than 2012 at all costs. I’d rather put a new transmission in this girl than get anything run by computers.
