Ok. I think I have a pretty good idea of what I need now. I'm probably going to go for a little bit of overkill with a 3/4 hp pump but I'd really like to avoid flooding.

2018-07-21 00:51:02 UTC

Nothing wrong with going a little bigger. Sorry for rambling on about head pressure and all that, I’ve just seen several times where someone will go and buy a pump not knowing to look for that.

2018-07-21 00:54:19 UTC

No need to apologize. That's exactly what this channel is for.

Sure thing, good luck and definitely let me know if I can be of any help.

When my bathroom sink water was turned on, it would back up into the bathtub. Went downstairs with a 25-foot hand snake. After about a half-hour of push it through the pipe by hand, I used hand crank to push it through and out came a six-inch sausage of hair. Very gross, but problem solved. Few things in life feel better than saving $150 on plumbing house call.

Yikes. I know that feel all too well, wife has long hair so every 6 months ago I have to pull a wad of it out of the shower drain.

2018-10-07 19:49:08 UTC

@Deleted User yep already did

2018-10-08 22:56:58 UTC

@Deleted User @ThisIsChris Thanks. I have electrical and mechanics skills especially in terms of working 30 HP pumps, 3 phase electric....etc if you want to add those as well

2018-10-08 23:17:42 UTC

@TheWhiteRationalist you bet your bottom dollar I want to add them!

2018-10-15 18:54:54 UTC

@TheWhiteRationalist#8239 ayyy it’s nice to see another water/wastewater guy here. I’m in the same line of work, pump mechanics and electrical, anything from 1/2hp up to 200hp. Currently hold a Collections 3 license, going for 4’s this spring

Why does my toilet pour water for hours?

2018-10-29 09:00:24 UTC

You know, like when it fills up the toilet bowl

2018-10-29 09:01:25 UTC

It gets really annoying because I live in a tiny studio and I can hear it when I'm trying to do something

2018-10-29 09:02:05 UTC

Not too concerned about the water bill, since I've been having the same problem and the water bill has been really low

2018-10-29 12:31:49 UTC

Is the float in the tank getting stuck?

2018-10-29 12:38:19 UTC

Chain could be too loose and getting caught under the plunger.

2018-10-30 00:28:15 UTC

@RevStench it might be

2018-10-30 00:28:30 UTC

looks like it's just not filing up

2018-10-30 00:33:28 UTC

What Tyler said about the chain getting stuck under the plunger could be the reason it's not filling up.

2018-10-30 00:34:37 UTC

Or the chain is getting hung up and causing the plunger not to seal properly.

Watch it next time you flush. You might see the problem.
