Awesome
hey gang
i've got a historic family function to attend and many people will be in period costumes from 19th century france.
it is a white tie event and i was wondering if y'all had suggestions on hairstyles for men with long hair
I slick it back with gel when I haven’t gotten a cut in a while
Goose has really long hair though, like past his shoulder blades when hanging loose
Oh my. Man bun then if you can pull it off....
@missliterallywho i don't have the curls 😔
might have to bust out the merovingian look, but wanted to come to the experts first
lol i'm good, thanks though
Waiting on something like this to come back into stock in my size
I've taken my Irish LARPing to heights never before imagined
looking keen boyo!
Nice sweater
"Larping"
I like that sweater,looks good @John O -
Thanks, always wanted a cable knit sweater
Your welcome, always a classic that never goes out of style
@missliterallywho CULTURAL APPROPRIATION IS NOT COOL
so silk ties vs linen?
i'm doing some christmas shopping
@Goose All my ties are silk. But I'd say linen ties are cozier for winter
@Jason - CT good to know, thanks.
i went with silk since it's warmer down here and more versatile
Oh, woops haha
@missliterallywho louisiana begs to differ lol
but in all seriousness, that's good info to know.
i'll have to keep my eye out for more linen ties now
glad i have the IE chats for advice now until i have a wife lol
Speaking of ties, hubby got this from his dad's closet last month, along with others. We all really loved that his dad had 3 flag ties that we could split up btwn the 3 kids. Also kept a few other ties and shared with other family too. Which will be nice to see stepson wear ties his grandpa used to wear too. Anyways I think ours here was the best Country Flag tie there was😊👌❤
Best to avoid too much shininess in suits and ties less it looks plastic-y and likely that it has large percentages of cheap synthetics like polyester.
Silk, cotton, and cashmere are indeed best for ties. No offense to anyone here, but ties with distracting modern pattern or really anything beyond the classics just clashes so easily unfortunately.
I agree. Unless of course it's for a casual party where ties are completely unnecessary and thus it becomes a fun accoutrement
i stick with the classics; they're timeless
Yup
That is the real benefit of mens style. It has been so timeless. The stuff that was worn 50 years ago for the most part is still completely legitimate today and in fact better than most of the 'fashion forward' stuff.
Was going over some of my old scout gang stuff. Some good aesthetics here.
I'd wager we have quite a few scouts in I.E.
It is/was a pretty good outlet for white identity
