well then i'll make the first post: get ahold of a plash palatka. extremely durable, has many uses (tarp, tent, sack, hoodie, ect), is waterproof, best thing you can bring along for lightweight camping. just make sure it was waxed first.

2017-12-14 06:39:42 UTC

~$35 and you can find it on ebay

2017-12-14 10:59:24 UTC

I recommend Nutnfancy on youtube for all reviews

2017-12-14 14:41:28 UTC

Lolol

2017-12-14 18:18:57 UTC

yall got any modern brand tool suggestions?
most stuff today is plastic and not reliable like an old black and decker

2017-12-14 19:14:05 UTC

For outdoor power tools you won't beat Stihl.

2017-12-14 19:14:20 UTC

Milwaukee is really good for other stuff if you can afford it

2017-12-14 19:54:32 UTC

DeWalt is cheaper and almost as good quality. Good for hobbyists and home owners

2017-12-14 19:55:34 UTC

Craftsman is always good, but apparently they won't be honoring their warranty soon.

2017-12-14 19:55:42 UTC

Don't take my word on that

2017-12-14 19:56:20 UTC

I use Klein screwdrivers

2017-12-14 21:42:16 UTC

ive never worked with any Stihl tools but ive heard good things

2017-12-14 21:42:41 UTC

craftsman has gone down in quality.... lots of plastic now

2017-12-14 21:42:56 UTC

old craftsman tools are the tits

2017-12-14 21:43:38 UTC

ive only had good experiences with dewalt, but am open to trying a new brand

2017-12-14 22:09:26 UTC

Milwaukee tools all day everyday! I stand by Milwaukee, my only choice. Hand tools and power

2017-12-14 22:10:45 UTC

Milwaukee lineman pliers stomp the shit out of Kline tools. Buy them for life and they are cheaper in price by about 20 bucks

2017-12-14 22:13:08 UTC

Hammers Eastwing straight claw. Tack hammers Eastwing as well.

2017-12-14 22:23:31 UTC

fuck its nice talkin about tools when youre surrounded by liberal cucks and fags

2017-12-14 22:25:15 UTC

Never had a problem with Ridgid. But pros in HVAC have always sworn by DeWalt

2017-12-14 22:25:16 UTC

both of my grandpas' tools still hold up better than anything new

2017-12-14 22:25:53 UTC

@Goose Jewish tool cucking

2017-12-14 22:26:06 UTC

lol wut?

2017-12-14 22:26:29 UTC

@Goose same here I work for a 67 year old who has 40+ year old tools of his own, and he also has tools we use that his dad used.

2017-12-14 22:26:50 UTC

@RevStench dude thats awesome!

2017-12-14 22:27:11 UTC

old drill sets fetch a pretty penny at auctions nowadays

2017-12-14 22:28:14 UTC

We do historic preservation so it makes sense we still use old tools.
I worked around an electrician who used an old wooden tool box, it was sweet.

2017-12-14 22:30:15 UTC

Old hand planes are 100 times better than the "best" one made these days. New ones are cheesy and cheap feeling.

2017-12-14 22:34:51 UTC

Eastwing makes the best hammers

2017-12-14 22:35:15 UTC

@Goose All my Craftsman wrenches are 100% steel

2017-12-14 22:35:44 UTC

@RevStench nice thats what i grew up doing in NOLA

2017-12-14 22:39:25 UTC

Bro, I bought them only a few years ago

2017-12-14 22:49:32 UTC

@John O - do you work in utilities?

2017-12-14 22:50:22 UTC

No

2017-12-14 22:50:33 UTC

Commercial electrical

2017-12-14 22:51:33 UTC

Oh ok. I noticed some of the stuff you're around and was curious.

2017-12-14 22:52:56 UTC

Actually I watched some guys lay underground power lines and I was like I wonder if that's the kind of work Johno does.

2017-12-14 22:53:07 UTC

Nope

2017-12-14 23:00:29 UTC

I would like to suggest a tape measure, if you don't already have a preference.
Milwaukee so sweet. I dropped this one 3 stories on to pavement and it didn't screw it up, I had the tape locked about 48in out. One of the magnets broke out but no big deal.
