I guess this really can't go under electrical, it's more of general tool use. This instruction will teach you how to use a torque wrench, one of the most essential tools for any task involving nuts and bolts.

This is a torque wrench

DASKGS400 is the catalogue number that identifies the kit where I got the bolts

Inside DASKGS400 is DA-600-S lug kits

This is 500 kcmil wire. It is 500k circular millimeters in diameter, hence the name

As you can see from the chart, under the DA-600-S lug, 500kcmil has to be torqued to 550 inch pounds

Since I only have a foot pound torque wrench, I need to divide 550 by 12 (12 inches in a foot)

I'll round it up to 46

Pull back and twist the handle until you get to 46 foot pounds

It's very important to set your tool back to 0 after each use to maintain accuracy
