2018-06-07 21:50:30 UTC

He even had a prototype bazooka.

2018-06-07 21:51:12 UTC

That's just a few of the machine guns, I didn't even get to the pistols

2018-06-07 21:52:03 UTC

Ooooh

2018-06-07 21:52:30 UTC

Man I'm in heaven here

2018-06-07 21:55:01 UTC

Crazy how many firearms this guy had. He was some hot shot expert on firearms, it's wild he donated everything.

We could use an #armory channel. New investigative report shows Sig Sauer KNEW their guns were not drop-safe and kept selling them anyway.

"When gun manufacturer Sig Sauer was about to land a massive deal in 2016 to supply the US Army with a new pistol, the military made a disturbing discovery during testing. If dropped at a certain angle, the gun would go off by itself. The company won the deal last year anyway, then fixed the guns before shipping them.

The Army’s apparent endorsement helped make a nearly identical Sig Sauer pistol, the P320, a popular choice for police departments and the general public. But for several months, **the company sold its commercial version of the gun without the fix it had made for the military**, a CNN investigation has found."

That would be against the rules

2018-06-08 12:32:05 UTC

@ThisIsChris What's your call on @RevStench 's post? No weapons allowed, but I wonder if we shouldn't make an exception here because he's working on an historic state arsenal. I defer to you.

2018-06-08 12:52:52 UTC

@Deleted User @RevStench thanks for calling me into this. Rule 8 is stated:
>8 - Weapons
No discussion of weaponry of any kind is permitted on the server. Discussion of historical artifacts, in a historical context, where those artifacts happen to be weapons, is permitted as long as this is not used as a proxy for discussion of how those weapons may be put to actual use.
I wouldn't make exceptions to the rule but based on what you pointed out I do not see @RevStench 's collection as an exception but rather entirely within the rule since it is a discussion where the weapons are historical artifacts and clearly labeled as so.
My only suggestion is that the collection go into the new <#454627229654056963> channel under the Academics section. It didn't exist before since I was considering history suitable for the humanities channel but it probably deserves its own spot.

2018-06-08 17:02:36 UTC

Cool, thanks, I just wanted to make sure that fell within the rules.

2018-06-09 05:33:45 UTC

@RevStench Thanks, I appreciate your conscientiousness!

2018-06-09 18:04:42 UTC

@RevStench Wow,that's 1 heck of a collection!😍

2018-06-12 14:30:16 UTC

@celticflame yeah it's a crazy collection. I looked up the guy George M Chinn, interesting life that guy lived.
Also good luck on your little business, how's the uploading going?😃

2018-06-12 16:15:57 UTC

@RevStenchthanks,i bet it was. Well uploading still has a while to go,have been busy with other stuff,so need to get back to
it soon,lol. But thanks!

2018-06-12 16:23:30 UTC

2018-06-12 16:24:49 UTC

@RevStench that's all packed pretty tight and takes awhile to upload and describe each one... so ya,gonna take a bit longer, lol😂

2018-06-12 18:44:25 UTC

Oh wow, you're going to be busy haha

2018-06-12 19:44:55 UTC

Lol yep!

2018-06-13 13:07:08 UTC

@RevStench I didn’t realize the collection was a Chinns. Colonel chinn probably had a hand in designing a lot of those weapons.

2018-06-13 15:42:04 UTC

He designed the Mk 19 grenade launcher. Which I didn't get a picture of haha.
He had an interesting life.

2018-06-16 18:30:38 UTC

Brick layers should always have jeans and knee pads

2018-06-16 18:30:51 UTC

I’ve done some brick laying, not a fan

2018-06-16 22:52:09 UTC

80 degrees basically is what they are crying about? The Brits need to harden up.

2018-06-17 04:30:49 UTC

Oh they're Brits. Makes sense now. I'm surprised that they don't have to wear hijabs to please their new masters.

2018-06-17 04:31:40 UTC

I'm sure a headscarf is more comfortable than a hard hat anyway.

2018-06-17 15:33:45 UTC

What the fuck kinda construction job has a dress code? I get shoe and hard hat requirements, but no shorts is just dumb. Also agree that they need knee pads on.

2018-06-17 15:35:36 UTC

I'm not allowed to wear shorts @micbwilli

2018-06-17 15:36:37 UTC

Maybe I just never did that kinda work with a reputable place.

2018-06-17 15:37:10 UTC

I work on huge commercial projects

2018-06-17 23:52:56 UTC

I have to wear pants and steel toes as well as high visibility shirts. Some sites also require hard hats. In my opinion I never work in shorts don’t believe shorts make a huge difference temperature wise.

2018-06-18 01:25:22 UTC

I think it depends on where you are. I wear shorts all summer. I'd heat stroke walking into work if I didn't. Alabama Summers are like a damp oven.

2018-06-18 01:28:26 UTC

Nah mang, Central Florida here. Mandatory pants, mandatory hardhat, mandatory steel toes. I usually wear long sleeve shirts when I work outside

2018-06-18 02:14:57 UTC

I am in ky today was 95 and 90% humidity.

2018-06-18 02:15:12 UTC

And that is the norm for this time of year.

2018-06-18 03:43:05 UTC

Yeah hot. But jeans all year long. I wear these Lee Khaki jean like pants on really hot days. They breath, but I don't have a uniform, but jeans and pocket T's. But it comes down to safety, my boots have a metal plate in the sole, I don't want a 100 year old nail, well any nail to go in my leg or foot, or get cut by something on the leg.
I think @John O - probably has it the worst, daily rain turns FL into a sauna. And those Brits in that article are crying over 80°. 😁
