2018-05-18 14:20:47 UTC

2018-05-18 14:22:52 UTC

Watch it if you want to get pissed off, it's about the US gaining land in Canada and these retarded US troopers have to police the area

2018-05-21 22:31:15 UTC

2018-05-21 23:37:55 UTC

2018-05-22 00:25:08 UTC

I was looking for a moderate indepth knowledge on world history and a high indepth knowledge on US and Euro history.

2018-05-22 01:11:03 UTC

Depends on what you want really for roman history I like a mix of original sources and modern writers

2018-05-22 01:11:23 UTC

Plutarchs roman lives gives you a feel for republican rome

2018-05-22 01:11:41 UTC

Adrian goldsworthy does a range of good books on the subject

2018-05-22 01:12:07 UTC

^ good starter books

2018-05-22 01:13:34 UTC

Medieval history I recently read Dan Jones the plantagenents

2018-05-22 01:14:33 UTC

This covers the Crusades up to just before the war of the roses from the English monarchies perspective

2018-05-22 01:14:46 UTC

gives you good historical context for English saints

2018-05-22 01:32:38 UTC

I'll start with these books, thanks @Georges_Cross and @Callaghan.

his argument is that the reasons civillizations and peoples have come to be the way they are, is purely, or at least 90%, due to their environment

2018-05-22 02:45:07 UTC

iirc

2018-05-22 03:34:13 UTC

Didn't know that he thought that, glad I didn't waste my time reading it.

There were a lot of Jews in the confederacy

2018-05-25 05:18:07 UTC

Even more than in the Union

2018-05-25 21:53:07 UTC

Were these Jews coming during the mass immigration from Eastern Europe? If not, it would be really interesting to see where these antebellum Jews originated from. Part of the reason US Jews are such a solidified unit is that they all relatively come from the same area of Europe (Russia, Poland, etc) I wouldnt be surprised if the majority of antebellum Jews in America originated from Germany and Central Europe.

2018-05-26 00:19:48 UTC

Most of them were Ashkenazi's from Prussia
