good body armor is not several thousand dollars you can get high quality lvl 4 plates for well under 1000 dollars
safe lines body armor is lvl3a which is rated for almost all handgun calibers
its not rated to stop rifle rounds
@Simon Scola let me know if your serious about body armor and ill send you an array of options with varied budget/quality options
if you worried about a level 3 soft armor wearing out after five years its just easier to get a set of level 3 plates like the ones he linked from spartan there are other brans you can get that i can link
