what happened to storm front is frightening
If you upload illegal content to your google drive or dropbox, those companies are not held responsible for it.
decentralization is the ethos of our server anyways
Whether you're responsible or not doesn't really make it okay.
well decentralization from ((their)) way of life
But if Discord went down, just move to TS.
we could set up websites that are immune to web providers though
besides the funds could be used towards the ethno state
it would be pretty tough to find everybody if we went down
some interesting figures about STORJ
they say with average cost of 5.00 dollars for electricity and revenue of a terabyte rented out on your hardrive you can earn 7 dollars of profit per month
while that may seem small there are alternatives such as using a raspberry pi coupled witha shit ton of hardrive space (raspberry pi = basic, cheap computer)
I've got a raspberry pi
would have to set it up tho
I got it to work on my laptop, it should take less than an hour to get it running on a raspberry pi
We generate our own electricity
@Ammianus Marcellinus just to give you an idea 1 GB buys you .007 cents per month
*nice*
1 TB buys you 7 dollars of revenue
$.007 GB/MONTH
@Ammianus Marcellinus also your connection is a variable, since this is a market place and the best providers serve first
also yeah it would be 28 dollars
so I imagine you could just buy a few flash drives and make some serious profit fast
im still reading about this though, just wanted to see how it works
4000 TB = 28.000 $
right
wait 4k TB?
no that's much more
it's important to get some coding skills for employment now a days ^
Well i couldnt find any work and i got a bachelors in comp sci and did two internships aswell 🤔
Maybe the tech boom is just a american thing, nothing in the prairies, or quebec
@chris what languages do you work in? Employers here are always looking for web developers, people able to program in Java
a lot of demand for especially software engineering, but I know that's different
--based off my experience from career fairs and talking to employers
