Have you guys heard of the Mind Palace memory technique - for studying?

2017-09-24 17:40:43 UTC

nope

2017-09-24 17:40:53 UTC

Yes

2017-09-24 17:41:32 UTC

Its where you imagine a palace in your mind and you place things that you want to remember in different rooms.

2017-09-24 17:42:18 UTC

that's

2017-09-24 17:42:19 UTC

weird

2017-09-24 17:50:13 UTC

it works by utilizing spacial memory instead of .. other memory

2017-09-24 17:52:52 UTC

Self Improvement book reccomendations?

2017-09-24 18:06:02 UTC

Not really, they dont work

2017-09-24 18:06:23 UTC

Focus on reading classical lit.

2017-09-24 18:06:38 UTC

Go for, healthy diet, nofap, exercise and developing sound political ideas

2017-09-24 18:06:46 UTC

Pretty much any western author is a good place to start.

2017-09-24 18:07:57 UTC

Depending on your reading comprehension level, you may want to start with novelists and work your way to philosophy.

2017-09-24 18:09:22 UTC

Orwell and Huxley are really good, and important authors to read.

2017-09-24 18:11:30 UTC

Then to Nietzshe, Decartes, Bertrand Russel, Aquinas, etc....

2017-09-24 18:14:25 UTC

Also, though he's not technically western, Solzhenitsyn is really important as well, specifically Gulag Archipilago.

2017-09-24 18:16:23 UTC

Also, important psychology works as well, Freud(Though he missed the mark on a few things, still very enlightening), Jung, Neumann, Becker etc..

2017-09-24 18:16:27 UTC

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Sometimes known as 'The Art of the Violenly Unstoppable Doormat.'

2017-09-24 18:17:11 UTC

Yeah, Carnegie is great as well.

2017-09-24 18:17:41 UTC

That is a decent self-help book. The only good one I know.

2017-09-24 18:17:45 UTC

Oh, I forgot Dostoevsky.

2017-09-24 18:18:04 UTC

Any study in Philisophy should start with Plato or the Pre-Socratics.

2017-09-24 18:19:02 UTC

Yeah, they count as western for sure.

2017-09-24 18:23:17 UTC

You know what, here's one of my bookshelves. Anything on here is good to start.

2017-09-24 18:23:53 UTC

Is that yours??

2017-09-24 18:23:56 UTC

Yes.

2017-09-24 18:24:13 UTC

Wow, thats how I want my walls to look like 😄

2017-09-24 18:24:25 UTC

I like these covers

2017-09-24 18:27:41 UTC

>The Great Works of The Western World.

2017-09-24 18:27:43 UTC

Shit nigga

2017-09-24 18:27:46 UTC

That is goodl

2017-09-24 18:28:21 UTC

It's a set bought with a really nice, but old, leather bound britanica encyclopedia. The encyclopedia is long gotten rid of due to obsolescence. They were several thousand dollars all together. Was probably 2 decades ago now.

2017-09-24 18:28:44 UTC

Ah man, I will get similar ones

2017-09-24 18:31:12 UTC

Focus is kinda shit on my fucked up iPhone. I'll take a new one tomorrow after I get my Note8.

2017-09-24 18:31:34 UTC

Along with some others probably.

2017-09-25 22:52:11 UTC

Gotta say, I recently started taking cold showers, and I think I'm additcted (not literally). It feels fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone.

2017-09-26 00:24:06 UTC

Also prevents dry scalp^^

2017-09-26 10:42:46 UTC

I prefer starting my showers cold and finishing with warmth 🤷🏻 I don't get as clean in the cold

2017-09-26 10:43:58 UTC

I find warm showers at first helps get the oil and dirt out, opens the pores, and then cold shower closes em up again, so warm while washing and a cold finish is 👌

2017-09-26 10:45:47 UTC

🤔 I have yet to try that! I'll do it tommorow at the gym
