I was clinically diagnosed with depression. Some if it, when you're young, has to do with growing up. I never really took pills but I tried to make some lifestyle changes and writing things down really helps. Sometimes stuff gets overwhelming and having it all written down in front of you helps rationalize and compartimalize. You're 18 so you'll get the whole "you're young life has just started" speech, but there is truth to it. Things can always improve and realizing you have control over it helps tackle stuff.

A lot of us guys have to deal with this shit and it's a vicous cycle that's hard to break. but it isn't impossible and you posess the power and ability to change your life for the better. It just seems so unfair to me, I'm not a bad looking guy, I'm actually really handsome and have considered modeling (I'm not sperging just being honest) and I'm a genuinely a caring and intelligent person, but everyone I see around me, just seems so distasteful and unapproachable so I've never been able to make any friends. I'm a fairly buff guy, I work out and eat healthy, I read, I study and work hard in school and plan on going to law school. I know I sound like Elliot Rodgers, I really do, but I'm just not the type of guy to play video games all day and hate others for not wanting to be my friend. I just want to know WHY it's hard to have friends

I'm almost the complete oppositte. I'm 5'5'', overweight, and I have physical deformities. Making friends can be daunting but sometimes it takes time and work to connect with people. Try to get involves with common interests and activities and try to be conciousley inviting and conversational with people - even if they can be insufferable.
