I will wait for a couple more people to show up.

2017-10-23 00:24:21 UTC

I'll participate

2017-10-23 00:48:57 UTC

Let us kick it off and answer some of the questions above, respons and then bring up anything else anyone wanted to talk about.

- From the descriptions of the coming to power of fascist leaders and parties, do you see any similarities to the current day? Do you believe a fascist leader could take power today? I would say yes, I see an un-happy population of people, mainly white men, who are sick of the current way of things. Marxism is rampant and a threat as it was back in the early 1900's, and these are both factors needed to bring up a fascist power.

I do see some stark similarities, particularily from people on our side. The beginning of the book spoke extensivley of how the fascist parties of italy and germany were not ideologically fixed the way the communists or liberals were. They either didn't focus on ideology too much, or were willing to adjust their views to whatever was more convenient. I see the same feeling arising today, even in this group there are some libertarians as well as people who lean more socialist. This is for a good reason, ideology and economic models do not solve our problems. Neither capitalism, globalism, communism, or any other ideology has any answers to the loss of ethnic homogeneity, or subversion by jews. It could be said that we are beyond bickering about what economic or political system works best.

Detailed power structures work when things are going well in a high trust, homogeneous societies. Particularily white societies, I think theres a reason why democracy never seems to work in the middle east, or anywhere that isn't white or asian. The other races all come from cultures that are inherently totalitarian, and when a totalitarian culture invades a (classical) liberal one, the liberal society will not sruvive. Liberal societies are more complex and fragile, the totalitarian ones are much more uniform and tougher. When a country is in a difficult position and is being subverted, it has no choice but to revert to a simpler state in order to fight back. In other words, fighting fire with fire. So the lack of a central doctrine is really a strength in times when great change is needed, it allows the leaders to adapt to the political situation and to the peoples needs.

2017-10-23 01:07:17 UTC

Do you believe that an economic collapse will trigger the people into accepting fascism like in the past?

2017-10-23 01:07:52 UTC

Probably, in fact i feel it might be inevitable.

2017-10-23 01:09:46 UTC

I agree, I feel it coming. Just look at the dow Jones, it's hit 4 1000 milestones just since Trump took office.

2017-10-23 01:10:06 UTC

It can't sustain that trend

I don't think the fascist could come in power without conservatives, i think fascism is something that arises when conservatism fails, but the two will naturally work together (hence the way the alt-right is tied to the republicans in one way or another). People turn to fascism when democracy stops working, but the left always seems to struggle in gaining support in any society, even today the democrats consistently reject the Bernie Sanders wing of the party, and the more they pander to SJWs and Cultural Marxists, the more of the white vote they loose, and the more they make fascism seem appealing. It's funny though, that a lot of the things used to describe fascism in this book can easily be applied to the left; such as the hatred of the freedom of speech, hating debate with opponents, opposition to letting anyone have an opinion. Perhaps everyone is looking towards fascism in some form or another.

One thing that does only seem to apply to the right that the book mentioned, is the lack if interest in spreading their ideas globally. Modern leftists seem to want everyone in the world to do things the way they do. the right wing is the opposite, we generally want to to things our way and dont really care how others run their country. The left seems to always be pushing a certain point of view, and the right is a reaction to that, and people turn to the right when they are fed up with things going a certain way. I think the lesson to learn here is that the best form of propaganda is the constant reminder of how far society has fallen from where it used to be. Focusing on self-improvement and maintaining a good image of ourselves is very important for that, as proof that we are for what made the west great, and they are the opposite to that.

I also don't beleive the fascists could come to power with allies. The normal citizen will see them as too strict/too 'out there'. But once their leaders start aligning themselves with fascists, then they will be more accepting.

2017-10-23 01:57:53 UTC

I do see that distinction @Orchid . The left wants to spread their ways across the globe, but that is what marxists tend to strive towards.

2017-10-23 01:58:23 UTC

you mean "wthout allies"?

2017-10-23 01:59:03 UTC

Fascism is much more tailored to each country that it rises in, and that is why Fasicsm doesn't have a central doctrine, but simply similarities between each of the different individual movements.

2017-10-23 02:02:24 UTC

Fascists' doctrine seems to be focused on eliminating enemies and degeneracy, and fascism seems to rise when other more complex ideologies get in the way of that.

2017-10-23 02:02:47 UTC

@rilath I also believe that fascism is inevitable, hopefully if it does come to pass, it will use authority to fix the problems with society and its people, then through generations the idea of the hard-working, nationalisitc citizen will be imbedded in the youth and the iron first of fascist authority will no longer be needed.

2017-10-23 02:03:17 UTC

I hope that day comes soon.

2017-10-23 02:04:16 UTC

Seems fascism is almost a natural resposne in that sense, when society is degeneratiing into an unnatural state, fascism rises up to set the world back to its proper order. To remind us all that we are not god, we are not perfect simply because we exist, but that we have to strive for perfection through sweat and blood, if need be.

2017-10-23 02:04:18 UTC

@rilath me too

2017-10-23 05:57:42 UTC

Of course, the alternative to having an ideology rise up to set the world back in its proper order is that another society that is stronger replaces the one that has degenerated...

2017-10-23 09:09:43 UTC

It's hard to say nowadays. The interpretations of fascism vary extremely.

2017-10-23 09:11:11 UTC

Well, there are people who only see themselves as fascists in a social sense, then there are people who view it as an economic system or even a spiritual one.

2017-10-23 09:13:30 UTC

Well, if you define fascism as the notion that "people who work together are stronger", then I would see myself as a fascist aswell, at least in a societal context.

2017-10-23 09:14:56 UTC

Fascism is sometimes defined as just teamwork
