2017-10-09 12:03:26 UTC

shieeet, did they actually ask you? @Roman Dreams

2017-10-09 14:32:35 UTC

they didn't ask

2017-10-09 14:33:33 UTC

@Ghostler they weren't very cooperative with the Nazis, since being the rural community was independent and didn't care about the politics of fascism. So a lot of people would hide in the mountains to avoid being forced to help soldiers

2017-10-09 14:34:33 UTC

they were farmers who just didn't want to be involved in a war

2017-10-09 22:17:21 UTC

O hek

2017-10-10 03:42:27 UTC

Anyone catch the new Blader Runner? Just watched the original yesterday and absolutely loved it. I've heard the new one is good as well.

2017-10-10 05:23:15 UTC

I do want to see it, heard some good things

2017-10-10 13:40:09 UTC

watched it with the company a few days back

2017-10-10 13:40:13 UTC

rented out a whole thatre room

2017-10-10 13:40:26 UTC

i think it might be better than the original

2017-10-10 13:41:16 UTC

some people consider it heresy or whatever, but i don't say it lightly, it's not knocking on the original, i just don't think that the new one could have been much better

2017-10-10 13:41:28 UTC

minus a few minor gripes

2017-10-10 13:42:20 UTC

it's everything a sequel or remake should be, hyper respectful of the source material, riffs on the same things that made the original great, doesn't sell out to 'current market trends' etc. overall a REALLY good movie, but LONG

2017-10-10 13:42:24 UTC

3 hours, go prepared.

2017-10-11 06:26:05 UTC

Its so good

2017-10-11 06:26:39 UTC

I love it. I hope the Asian sales bring the movie a good profit

2017-10-11 06:27:27 UTC

The book is actually really good idea about taking a pill to be happy or get in a curtain mood.

Thomas Carlyle's Latter Day Pamphlets is an interesting read.

2017-10-17 23:09:36 UTC

I read 50 pages on anatomy of fascism last night

2017-10-17 23:10:20 UTC

I would meme it as
Fascism
>muh feels
>muh no doctrines

2017-10-18 03:05:37 UTC

Yeah a big part of fascism is tapping into the frustrated feelings of the population.

2017-10-18 03:07:22 UTC

Don't think it's wrong to do so, emotions can't be completely written off as useless. But fascism doesn't have one specific doctrine. Each movement is different and a different doctrine is adopted for each once it has matured enough.

2017-10-18 03:09:57 UTC

@Roman Dreams How do you feel about the book so far? I like how the author attacks the topic.

2017-10-18 03:13:38 UTC

@Polak it feels fresh, my education of fascism ended with high school courses which never went into enough autistic detail

2017-10-18 22:46:04 UTC

How many of you are participating in the book club, and how is the reading progressing?

2017-10-18 22:48:00 UTC

I've read through excerpts of this book before (so I suppose I will complete it), and I am wondering what sort of discussion will be held in two weeks?

2017-10-18 22:51:15 UTC

It will likely be over voice, this is our first book club so I'm not sure what to expect. I suppose we will discuss our opinions on what we read. The book club will actually happen this coming saturday. But if people really need more time there might be an extension.
