think about this ethnostate economically
and you can easily succeed
Like how Wind turbines cost more in maintenance than they provide in power.
Cool concept, but not practical.
solar is a very good investment though
all year round, right?
not as much maint
If I don't get to carpent and craft a whole lot you'll have one grumpy Koala on your hands 😒
waterwheels only work until the waters freeze
sadly
flowing water doesn't freeze as easily as stagnant water
Solar does seem to be the best source of "off the grid power"
I suppose we could keep fires alive by the waterwheel to keep it flowing, but it's pretty much no use, cost too much Wood and so on I gues
s
solar is your best bet off the grid
As I said corn is not the best option for energy but it can be a solution for other problems, like alcohol, starch, feed the animals...
Yeah
The versatility makes it worth
why solar
@Mercer nearly every homsteader I've met that lives away from power has solar and can most modern comforts with it
solar is a low maint and high yield way for power
especially if you invest in a giant field
humans need all different types of foods
to be healthy
And who said that we are going to be eating only corn?
How will we deal with getting old in our society? No home for the elderly I imagine lol
Corn has been a part of the American diet since the time of the Native Americans.
It is literally one of the most American foods out there.
@Yung Koala The old should do housework and less physically demanding chores. We can't have welfare for the old.
I don't think American Indians made many tamales...
Pretty sure they ate it on the cob.
Tbh, I'm gonna take my own life once I'm old to the point where I am only a nuisience to others - another worry, just a mouth to feed, can't even take care of myseld
@Yung Koala the old should be teaching the young
The Native Americans used fish as fertilizer and it worked for them for thousands of years.
Touché
Long before we had artificial nitrates and fertilizers.
So you're pointing out the benefit of corn now?
What is masa?
