Unless the Ortho lives in siberia and has never heard of the church

2018-01-22 19:51:56 UTC

Hmm, what are your reasons as to why?
I'm considering converting to Catholicism

2018-01-22 19:52:14 UTC

Its pretty simple

2018-01-22 19:52:27 UTC

Christ King made 1 Church

2018-01-22 19:52:31 UTC

Not 2 not 3

2018-01-22 19:52:59 UTC

The 1 Church he made is the Catholic Church, every other denomination broke off from it either directly or indirectly

2018-01-22 19:53:36 UTC

So how could i possibly reach heaven if i am following a church NOT made by Christ?

2018-01-22 19:55:06 UTC

The perspective I've always seen this question from is that if you pray to Christ, submit yourself to him, repent of your sins and ask forgiveness, that you are saved

2018-01-22 19:55:48 UTC

Like for instance the criminal on the cross next to Christ, who recognized him as Lord and was granted heaven.

2018-01-22 19:56:58 UTC

You may be right, but I'm just not convinced that devout men who were raised in a Protestant household who dedicate themselves to Christ won't receive heaven. It just doesn't make sense to me.

2018-01-22 19:57:27 UTC

Yeah, He confessed his sins right before Christ on earth

2018-01-22 19:57:50 UTC

So naturally he was saved, He confessed his sins to the First Priest, Christ King

2018-01-22 19:58:33 UTC

However, if i am a protestant and choose to ignore the church made my Christ Himself and follow christ my OWN way why the fuck would i deserve salvation

2018-01-22 19:59:22 UTC

I imagine that most non-Catholic Christians don't see it that way.

2018-01-22 19:59:53 UTC

It doesnt matter how they see it

2018-01-22 19:59:59 UTC

What matters is the Truth

2018-01-22 20:01:06 UTC

I disagree with Protestantism on principle, but do you really think that Christians raised in ignorance of the truth of the Catholic Church's authority but follow Christ's teachings are damned?

2018-01-22 20:01:34 UTC

If they are 100% ignorant then they will be saved so long they are baptized

2018-01-22 20:01:47 UTC

But if they KNOW of the Catholoc church

2018-01-22 20:01:57 UTC

Then sadly they will burn

2018-01-22 20:03:15 UTC

@Simon Sasquatch Also if you plan to convert I suggest you go to a church that has Latin mass

2018-01-22 20:04:25 UTC

@Deleted User I attended a SSPX Latin mass last week, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

2018-01-22 20:04:35 UTC

Ah Nice

2018-01-22 20:04:40 UTC

I attend SSPX aswell

2018-01-22 20:04:43 UTC

I love it

2018-01-22 20:07:21 UTC

Can you see my sceptism about the idea that only those who are part of the Catholic church are saved?
The modernist Catholic church doesn't practice the real mass, the post Vactican II Popes are invalid according to the traditional Catechism, and most attendees of the Norvus Ordo mass don't practice any parts of the religion. Do you think that Norvus Ordo Catholics will be saved?

2018-01-22 20:09:16 UTC

@Simon Sasquatch I believe that Most Novus Ordites as they are modernist heretics will not be saved, HOWEVER although i hate that mass, some {few} novus ordo masses are decent

2018-01-22 20:09:54 UTC

So I think that salvation can be found in Novus Ordo but not many will be saved by it

2018-01-22 20:10:11 UTC

As you said its a terrible mass filled with heretics and heresu

2018-01-22 20:14:30 UTC

That's the trouble with the idea that only Catholics will be saved, for me. The modern Catholic Church is in rebelion against God in favor of the World. If we agree that the authority of the Pope and high clergy of the modern Catholic church is not valid becuase they effectivly created a new religion with Vactican II, then wouldn't that mean that you'd have to break away from the Catholic Church to some extent to truely follow the true Catholic faith?

2018-01-22 20:14:49 UTC

no

2018-01-22 20:15:02 UTC

breaking away will send you to hell

2018-01-22 20:15:15 UTC

The SSPX view the Pope as legitimate

2018-01-22 20:15:34 UTC

And they are in partial communion and will be in FULL communion soon

2018-01-22 20:16:04 UTC

We just need to understand that right now The Mother Church is going through a HARD time

2018-01-22 20:16:20 UTC

But I trust in Christ King that in time these problems will be solved

2018-01-22 20:16:27 UTC

And progress is being made

2018-01-22 20:16:40 UTC

Allmost every NEW seminarians are Traditionalists

2018-01-22 20:16:51 UTC

The next wave of Priests will fix the Church IMO

2018-01-22 20:23:02 UTC

IDK man, you may be right. I don't see how the modernist popes can be legit, but you're obviously more knowlegable on this topic than me, I'll concede that.

2018-01-22 20:23:15 UTC

I'll pray on it, and I'll definitely go back to the SSPX mass.
