For the TLM really all you have to do is dress nice and show up. There's nothing complicated about it

2018-02-02 04:18:48 UTC

Most Mass centers have paper missals you can use to follow along in Latin and English

@Simon Scola hey i approve it doesnt come with a necklace though which i knew so i use 550 paracord to wear mine which is a strong utility type fiber that i prefer for survival and durability purposes

So the Spanish civil war was in fact blessed as a crusade.

2018-02-02 21:15:28 UTC

I had my doubts but I was pretty sure.

2018-02-02 21:38:32 UTC

Alright, did a bit of looking around, and if you are to bless a Saint Benedict medallion, always have it done by a Benedictine priest if you can find one.

2018-02-02 21:39:00 UTC

Paul VI was the one who made it no longer mandatory to have such things blessed by their respective priests.

2018-02-02 21:39:27 UTC

He is the same Paul that convened Vatican II.

If anyone has questions or is confused by the the different groups and priestly societies that adhere to the Traditional Latin Mass, @ or DM me. If you're new to the TLM then just find a Mass location and don't worry about the complicated details right away.

2018-02-02 22:21:17 UTC

There are major differences between the conciliar, FSSP and ICKSP, neo-SSPX, SSPX Resistance, and sedevacantist positions on the crisis in the Church, and it's very easy to get ideologically influenced by one particular group before you really know what each one stands for.

2018-02-02 22:21:23 UTC

Under normal circumstances, serious divisions like this do not exist in the Church. As lay persons of course we are just Catholics and don't formally belong to any sub-group in the same way our priests and bishops may belong to of a priestly fraternal society, but we may informally support a society or loose group association based on their position on the present crisis.

2018-02-02 22:22:38 UTC

If anyone is interested I may just post a brief as possible summary of each position in this chat.

2018-02-02 22:23:10 UTC

@Thomas what is bendictine?

2018-02-02 22:23:46 UTC

Of Benedict.

2018-02-02 22:23:55 UTC

In the early years of the wider church

2018-02-02 22:24:15 UTC

Benedict of Nursia was born to minor nobility in central Italy in what is now Norcia.

2018-02-02 22:24:42 UTC

He gradually grew disgusted with the degeneracy of the society around him and withdrew to self exile to study God.

2018-02-02 22:24:51 UTC

When he emerged he was renowned for his holiness.

2018-02-02 22:25:22 UTC

He is responsible for the modern concept of monasteries in Catholicism.

2018-02-02 22:25:35 UTC

That is a very brief description. @🎭🎵

Guys I've been doing RCIA but i showed up kinda late (been going for a month, even asked if i was too late, they said i wasn't) and the deacon literally just told me i probably can't get confirmed (novus ordo) and I'm black pilled af

2018-02-02 22:26:59 UTC

I just want to go to a latin mass

2018-02-02 22:27:49 UTC

I'm transferring at the end of this semester and there's a latin church there. Thought I'd get confirmed while im stuck here

2018-02-02 22:28:35 UTC

You'll be fine. Your devotion to God will not go ignored by Him.

2018-02-02 22:29:26 UTC

Do i keep going to mass there?

2018-02-02 22:29:50 UTC

I'm so confused now

2018-02-02 22:30:12 UTC

It is all in the messages you're getting from that church in specific. If you feel that you can still influence the church there for the better,

2018-02-02 22:30:16 UTC

then perhaps you should.

2018-02-02 22:30:31 UTC

If not, then there are other areas to serve God.

2018-02-02 22:31:30 UTC

I've been praying the rosary everyday, and I do think it's helpful. But, currently I'm thinking about all the issues I have with novus ordo

2018-02-02 22:31:46 UTC

Go to the church with the Latin Mass, keep going to Mass

2018-02-02 22:31:52 UTC

explain your situation to the priest

2018-02-02 22:32:42 UTC

You could also ask a traditional Catholic priest here, and about any other questions you have

2018-02-02 22:33:41 UTC

I'll look into that

2018-02-02 22:34:25 UTC

Just waiting until i move is killing me

2018-02-02 22:34:43 UTC

Gee I wish I felt it like you

2018-02-02 22:35:03 UTC

Good man
