Do an examination of conscience, also don't be afraid to ask the priest for guidance

2018-03-22 02:38:49 UTC

Remember, this is for you. It only goes as far as you push it

@BottomoftheNinth @Nicholas István thank you guys for responding, I appreciate the advice

2018-03-22 03:47:26 UTC

Feeling somewhat lighthearted this evening folks. Found out today that my praying was not in vane, and an acquaintance I’ve met over discord has converted from paganism.

2018-03-22 04:10:02 UTC

@Thomas good to hear man. It seemed you were having a crisis there for a minute.

2018-03-22 04:10:23 UTC

Yeah I was in a bit of a sinch.

2018-03-22 04:10:26 UTC

Faith was waning.

2018-03-22 04:10:55 UTC

Been on the precipice since I was like fourteen and my life wasn't boding too well. But it's stuff like that, that just as I'm about to fall, he reminds me why.

2018-03-22 04:14:05 UTC

Amen. I started to turn back to God this last year and I feel like I am climbing Mt. Everest. I have prayed more in a day than I have in 5 years.

2018-03-22 04:17:06 UTC

Didn't go to confession today 😦

2018-03-22 04:17:30 UTC

I have break next week though so I'm going to go to confession and presanctified

2018-03-22 06:34:37 UTC

Hey guys is this a good complete version of the bible?

2018-03-22 06:37:44 UTC

sorry if thats a stupid question im just trying to get back to the religion. Iv always believed but i have kinda drifted in the last few years

2018-03-22 06:44:27 UTC

The Douay-Rheims is the ideal, but yes this is the best edition if you want a more modern translation that is easier to read

2018-03-22 06:49:32 UTC

Thanks

2018-03-22 06:49:38 UTC

ill probably just get both

2018-03-22 07:35:52 UTC

@Bret also a big problem that i have when i go to confession is there are somes sins that i have trouble to genuinely regret... if this is your case, do not worry and just tell it to the priest

2018-03-22 16:33:15 UTC

@francois le francais thank you, I'll keep that in mind

2018-03-22 22:33:39 UTC

Someone tell me, by Catholic standards, were the founders heretical?

2018-03-22 23:23:29 UTC

Should all nations be beholden to the supreme and holy authority of the Pope?

2018-03-22 23:24:01 UTC

And if they should, should they have any sovereignty over themselves or should a portion of it be voided to the Pope?

2018-03-22 23:32:19 UTC

maybe If the pope had our best interests in mind

2018-03-22 23:33:35 UTC

Idk if om going to get banned for this but quite frankly i think the current pope is a traitor who advocates for muslims and nonwhites to destroy our homelands

2018-03-22 23:34:10 UTC

You are fine Nick thinks this pope is lame and so do a lot of catholics

2018-03-22 23:36:24 UTC

how can we retake the papacy without literally becoming cardinals?

2018-03-22 23:50:55 UTC

If u don't like the pope go to orthodox

2018-03-23 00:00:16 UTC

@Thomas The founder fathers by catholic and eastern orthodox standards were heretics

2018-03-23 00:00:51 UTC

The Authority of the Pope is Dogmatic, the pope has no reason to rule directly over any given nation besides rome.

2018-03-23 00:00:51 UTC

Are they in hell?

2018-03-23 00:01:36 UTC

It is Catholic teaching that it is a general mystery as to weather someone is in hell or not, naturally of course you have a very low chance of being saved if you are not Catholic, however it is still possible.

2018-03-23 00:02:32 UTC

The way we used to look at is was that Kings ruled in the place of God over their kingdom, thus naturally they would work together with the Pope.

2018-03-23 00:02:49 UTC

The Catholic Idea of Church and State is not for the church to rule the state but for rather Church and State to work together.

2018-03-23 00:03:03 UTC

in harmony.

2018-03-23 00:05:09 UTC

I like the idea of a central authority

2018-03-23 00:05:33 UTC

i just believe the pope should be a genuine good Christian

2018-03-23 00:06:05 UTC

Then would the foundation of the US be intrinsically heretical in that it deliberately separates church and state? @Deleted User

2018-03-23 00:07:58 UTC

Correct

2018-03-23 00:08:28 UTC

If im not mistaken most of the founders weren't Catholic

2018-03-23 00:08:37 UTC

I dunno about this tbh

2018-03-23 00:08:50 UTC

If the papacy seeks to connect with states they've been doing a very bad job
