By virtue of your baptism yes that is true but that does not mean you are *saved*

2018-07-23 22:44:01 UTC

are knights of columbus gay?

2018-07-23 22:44:03 UTC

Protestants I mean

2018-07-23 22:44:04 UTC

false my man

2018-07-23 22:44:26 UTC

The only question here that is open for debate is who exactly is a member of the Church

2018-07-23 22:45:39 UTC

What do you mean who is a member of the church

2018-07-23 22:45:53 UTC

Surely it’s as simple as being confirmed catholic

2018-07-23 22:46:09 UTC

There is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church
Just who can be said to be in the confines of the Church is an open question

2018-07-23 22:47:05 UTC

But what do you mean by that

2018-07-23 22:47:25 UTC

Obviously a non catholic who walks into a Catholic Church wouldn’t be considered Catholic

2018-07-23 22:47:40 UTC

Like is an Eastern Orthodox person who has no problem with the Pope in the Church? Is an unbaptized Catechumen part of the Church?
I unno. They might be

2018-07-23 22:48:20 UTC

I have no problem with the pope

2018-07-23 22:48:30 UTC

yeah but your Anglican right?

2018-07-23 22:48:34 UTC

Yes

2018-07-23 22:48:41 UTC

Too many heretical doctrines

2018-07-23 22:48:47 UTC

no valid sacraments outside baptism

2018-07-23 22:50:06 UTC

That’s not true for all Anglican church’s

2018-07-23 22:50:14 UTC

High church does Eucharist

2018-07-23 22:50:25 UTC

yeah but they don't have a valid mass because their orders aren't valid

2018-07-23 22:51:10 UTC

The other things that you might call sacraments are practiced but aren’t allowed to call them sacraments officially

2018-07-23 22:51:20 UTC

Why are Orthodox orders valid?

2018-07-23 22:51:33 UTC

Cause they have the correct formula and intention

2018-07-23 22:51:40 UTC

Anglicans don't have the correct formula

2018-07-23 22:52:21 UTC

I’m not as into this issue they you can you explain further what’s the problem with formula/intent

2018-07-23 22:53:11 UTC

*The principal objection to validity of Anglican ordinations, according to Leo XIII, was the alleged deficiency of intention and of form of the Anglican ordination rites. Leo XIII declared that the rites expressed an intention to create a priesthood different from the sacrificing priesthood of the Roman Catholic Church and to reduce ordination to a mere ecclesiastical institution, an appointment or blessing, instead of a sacramental conferral of actual grace by the action itself.*

2018-07-23 22:53:14 UTC

In brief

2018-07-23 22:53:35 UTC

You can watch that for an in depth discussion

2018-07-23 22:53:43 UTC

I will thanks

2018-07-23 22:58:19 UTC
2018-07-23 23:07:48 UTC

That all seems fine

2018-07-23 23:08:01 UTC

Do I have to re it’s that in the church on baptism?

2018-07-23 23:08:12 UTC

what

2018-07-23 23:09:25 UTC

Recite

2018-07-23 23:09:37 UTC

what does that mean

2018-07-23 23:09:47 UTC

Read aloud

2018-07-23 23:10:09 UTC

are you asking if you have to recite the tridentine creed when you get baptised in the catholic church?

2018-07-23 23:10:16 UTC

Yes

2018-07-23 23:10:37 UTC

Or do they accept my baptism and I just need confirmation

2018-07-23 23:11:00 UTC

no you recite the nicene
but there is 4 creeds the Catholic Church uses that and the Athanasian creed is what people normally have problems with

2018-07-23 23:11:13 UTC

if you were baptised in an Anglican Church you have a valid baptism
