all of the East Asian countries subsidize the hell out of their own industries, all of those countries also have strict protectionist policies, and China especially is known for violating intellectual property so they don't even have to conduct their own R&D
"For example, free trade is always touted as a benefit with zero downsides to a country's health. In microeconomics 101, you may learn about how two partners who specialize in their comparative advantages, i.e., their most efficient use of resources, and then engage in trade will be better off than trying to produce a little bit of every good. In macroeconomics 101, you may even learn a more detailed explanation about the balance of payments, the surface level truth that all trade deficits will be repaid by an influx of capital investment. You may even be taught a narrative that globalization has lifted hundreds of millions out of poverty in the developing world. The presentation of introductory economics gives the illusion that neoliberal policies benefit all and harm nobody.
If you examine these claims, however, you will find that they're fraught with unanswered questions and deliberate misrepresentations. For example: 1) in practice there are very few instances of free trade thanks to barriers imposed by foreign nations and sponsored by corporations; 2) "comparative advantage" is an unquantifiable concept that has nothing to do with how competitive an industry is; 3) your country may be unable to specialize in its comparative advantage if competitor nations ignore "comparative advantage" and subsidize their industries; 4) the balance of payments doesn't solve the problem of globalization, since becoming an importer nation thanks to offshoring means that wealth is taken away from workers in the form of lost income and redistributed to the wealthy in the form of foreign investment in bonds, stocks, real estate, etc.
Now you might realize why almost every successful upstart industrial nation, from the USA to the PROC, ignores neoliberal economies until they're on top. "
Alexander Hamilton, Friedrich List, Deng Xiaopeng, almost every East and Southeast Asian powerhouse, etc., ignored key tenets of "classical" and what is now known as "neoliberal" economics in order to allow their respective developing countries to attain economic supremacy
now this is what i was looking fro

I’m stuck in this terrible position where it’s like - do you trash Israel in front of your Jewish friends but they will inevitably spin it around and ask “well do you prefer the Palestinians”? No! Neither fuck off with your sand nonsense
that is the correct attitude
indifference from the disgusting outside world
not like the palestiniani childeren lover ryan dwson
I dont see the fact that people dont really care much for clown world politics as a bad thing. and you have to imaigne a lot of states they felt their vote wouldnt change anything so why bother
You do a lot less "nobody" counties in swing states
