In order to guarantee that he needs to abandon this faux "broker nation" bs. Like it or not Israel is our ally, and Trump needs to make his position clear: if we keep the status quo, Israel wins vs the Palestinians. Hamas is in a tizzy, but the west bank has been quiet, and the backlash has been minimal. Furthermore, Trump is shoring up his own support at home rn. I'm not happy about it, but many Republicans are supporters of Israel and Trump is really throwing red meat to the GOP base with this.

The Saudis are still working with Israel, Egypt is still working with Israel, Jordan is still working with Israel, and Turkey is still subject to the US. This was a commitment Trump made on the campaign trail that literally took no political capital to follow up on. The law was passed in 95, and every president before had promised to do it. Trump wants to solve the problem. You cannot negotiate from both sides. We cannot simultaneously be Israel's benefactor state and an impartial body. If we make it clear to the other parties involved where our nation stands ( which even though I dont like it, is with Israel) then they will be able to more clearly understand our positions
