Anyone here use a ferro rod for fire starting?
I have, though I'm trying to move towards perfecting bow-drill and other natural fire starting techniques
as long as you have a knife with a 90 degree spine (carbon tends to work better than stainless, but anything hard will work), it's pretty foolproof.
Bowdrill is definitely a good skill to learn I need to put more time into it seeing as how if you had nothing but maybe a knife you could make the stuff to get a fire started. I've only used a ferro rod a few times and it seems way better than my traditional flint and steel
