Paul Kruger, the leader of the VVK, which is basically the Afrikaner community's extra-governmental electoral commission, passed away on August 30th, the day that Jonas held his conference in Pretoria, so the story was pretty poetic (one man's journey coming to an end, another man's embarking upon a new chapter)...
