BJJ or Krav Maga? I’m 5 7”

2018-09-11 18:08:11 UTC

muay thai

2018-09-11 18:15:43 UTC

As a level 2 (with some level 3 training) Krav Maga student myself (with plenty of sparring experience and friends that practice bjj/muay thai as amatuer fighters), I'd say mma, boxing or muay thai kickboxing would be much more useful for real life altercations.
BJJ would be good for if (or more likely when) you end up on the ground (from slipping on loose ground, being thrown down by your opponent, falling, tripping, etc). Stay on the ground for as little time as you possibly can though. You are very vulnerable down there from other threats.

Punches and kicks are more important than rolling imo

2018-09-11 18:34:16 UTC

but having ground game is still useful

2018-09-11 18:34:25 UTC

and only kick if you can do it effectively enough that they don't just grab your leg and use it against you.

2018-09-11 18:34:50 UTC

**that's why I don't kick much...*

2018-09-11 18:35:15 UTC

quiet in here today...

2018-09-11 18:35:39 UTC

I'm confident in my roundhouses and teep, less in my spinning heel

2018-09-11 18:37:25 UTC

And some heel stomp kicks

2018-09-11 18:37:34 UTC

those are impossible to go wrong with

2018-09-11 18:41:06 UTC

If someone grabs your leg during a kick, you turn around and kick downward to release their grip

2018-09-11 18:49:24 UTC

I’m pretty sure it violates server rules to pass out bum scoop on martial arts guys.

2018-09-11 18:51:43 UTC

Greetings Fortnite enthusiasts, have you guys checked out the new season?

2018-09-11 18:52:22 UTC

no, I've been too busy doing useful stuff

2018-09-11 18:59:34 UTC

One of these days I'll be able to take you on on the mat @Deleted User 💪

I feel it now, Mr. Krabs

2018-09-11 19:01:43 UTC

@Suomi Stronk one day.

2018-09-11 19:03:56 UTC

There's a handful of IE shots. Tennessee gets some view time

2018-09-11 19:04:08 UTC

This you?

2018-09-11 19:05:11 UTC

Na, vfg makes good stuff though, doesn't have any other SM beside the channel from what I've seen.

2018-09-11 19:07:29 UTC

Fact: BJJ>Wrestling>Boxing/MT>Krav>(big gap)>everything else

2018-09-11 19:08:02 UTC

*angry typing*

2018-09-11 19:08:09 UTC

😆

2018-09-11 19:08:33 UTC

Judo should probably be in there too, maybe near krav

2018-09-11 19:12:12 UTC

Maybe up by wrestling.

2018-09-11 19:14:21 UTC

Judo is potentially more useful if you're concerned with being attacked on the street. Bjj is a better sport and better for ingroup bonding

2018-09-11 19:14:23 UTC

Bjj/wrestling ain't gonna help if it's more than one opponent (say a bar or street fight), sorry not sorry. If you are wrestling my buddy, I'm going to kick you in the head, no doubt about it.

2018-09-11 19:15:05 UTC

Honor is great among friends, not against enemies though.

2018-09-11 19:15:36 UTC

Not exploiting an enemies weakness is a dishonor to your own people

2018-09-11 19:17:52 UTC

There really isn’t a great martial art against multiple people other than to keep moving and have good defense. Some guys say Krav is the best bet for that. But the fact is that most “street fights” are really one on one.

2018-09-11 19:18:06 UTC

Rallies/riots are a different matter.

2018-09-11 19:18:36 UTC

no no, the best school of thought for dealing with groups is track and field

2018-09-11 19:18:45 UTC

☝🏻

Parkour

2018-09-11 19:19:23 UTC

Haha

2018-09-11 19:19:34 UTC

Try not to make your martial arts training all about eventually getting in a street fight. Bonding your own group together and knowing what your lads are made of is more important

2018-09-11 19:19:35 UTC

just climb away hahah
