@lidl papi The dongle has no dac inside. If you are already fine with the audio from your iphone then don't get it. I got the first US drive DAC becuase I noticed noise on my laptops heaphone jack. The output from the DAC is super clean and has zero noise.

some usb c -> 3.5mm dongles have DACs

some have the DACs in the phone and use usb-c's alternate function mode

to just output the analog signal

i don't know which of the two the apple dongle does

both the apple dongle and the google dongle are active devices with DACs inside, they're not doing audio passthrough

the google pixel earbuds also have a DAC inside
