The talking point Ive always heard is that trade deals are very complex, but the lawyers negotiating components of them are negotiating niche components of them with very niche views attached to what theyre negotiating so they dont consider the bigger picture

2018-10-01 03:03:40 UTC

not sure if that applies here, but the news alone will most likely drive trade weighted USD higher just given general economic confidence under Trump

2018-10-01 03:04:24 UTC

@Rick From my understanding, a "racist liberal" is someone who isn't particularly conservative, just hates immigration

2018-10-01 03:04:30 UTC

I'm kind of a racist liberal tbh

2018-10-01 03:04:46 UTC

@Koba I agree, I am shorting gold because it's a standard for the USD to go up against

I hate the word conservative. I prefer traditional.

2018-10-01 03:05:45 UTC

Gold has been being beaten up lately, first with the fed rate hike last week and then strengthening USD and CAD tonight

2018-10-01 03:05:52 UTC

I wouldn't mind a social democracy but with white people

2018-10-01 03:05:54 UTC

yeah USD trade weighted has an inverse relationship with gold almost all of the time

2018-10-01 03:06:20 UTC

there are rare circumstances in which a pairs trade with both gold and USD will net a profit

2018-10-01 03:07:53 UTC

@Rick I don't like the word "conservative" either. I associate it with anti-intellectual types.

2018-10-01 03:09:06 UTC

A "conservative" sounds like a guy who rambles about low taxes, spouts off a few platitudes about freedom, reminds us that he doesn't care where people come from as long as they come legally, and makes fallacious arguments about how social sucks because Venezuela.

2018-10-01 03:09:08 UTC

@Jacob I love your username.

2018-10-01 03:09:13 UTC

Thanks

2018-10-01 03:10:07 UTC

I normally associate those things to Boomers, and I suppose young Conservatives as well. Northern conservatism is diet leftistism @Jacob

2018-10-01 03:10:27 UTC

Espouse Conservation; conserve nothing

2018-10-01 03:10:35 UTC

@Rick Two meanings: from the left it means people who are 'woke' but still really don't want to diversify their shit up (see also, the movie "Get Out" just don't pay for it). From the right, some of the harder core types think elements of the Alt-Right aren't sufficiently devout.

2018-10-01 03:10:59 UTC

the main problem with conservatism is that its become secular as opposed to christian. im not sure if it was ever exclusively christian as opposed to implicitly christian or some mix of both.

2018-10-01 03:11:09 UTC

Honestly, I'm leaning more towards socialism these days anyway. I don't really have anything in common with conservatives. Being corporate slaves doesn't sound fun.

2018-10-01 03:11:23 UTC

Eric Striker 2024?

2018-10-01 03:11:25 UTC

if we have a lit server I have an esoteric book published in the late 30s by an american group that examined the economics of it that I can post about

2018-10-01 03:12:37 UTC

I'd say that a fair few of american politicians could've been kings

2018-10-01 03:12:43 UTC

But I doubt that would work in a modern world

2018-10-01 03:13:09 UTC

monarchy gang is gay. for every good monarch you get you have a bad one. its a problem mostly because monarchs are for life.

2018-10-01 03:13:11 UTC

If anything, I think most people would be ok with a more aristocratic/restricted enfranchisement of the vote

2018-10-01 03:13:16 UTC

@Trashboat Jackson I'm thinking.

2018-10-01 03:13:36 UTC

If there is some kind of filter... Like not guaranteeing the firstborn son

2018-10-01 03:13:37 UTC

I'd say most of the time, the difference from king to king was marginal for most people aside from nobility

2018-10-01 03:13:40 UTC

The best son?

2018-10-01 03:13:43 UTC

Parliamentary Monarchy is my ideology besides Identitarianism

2018-10-01 03:13:44 UTC

Monarchy is pretty risky, the risk is just postponed at best and the crown becomes an object of desire to be taken by force at worst.

2018-10-01 03:14:14 UTC

I'm not really a monarchist btw

2018-10-01 03:14:15 UTC

Didn't roman emperors choose their successor? It wasn't always the "prince" or whatever?
