They know that if this assassination tactic proves viable, itl be their heads on the chopping block for the same thing next time they are up for re-election.

plea deal

2018-10-04 16:20:25 UTC

Question: We know that ancestral memories are passed down through our DNA, we quite literally have our ancestors with us... but does anybody know how far back the memories go?

2018-10-04 16:23:11 UTC

TIL ancestral memories exist

2018-10-04 16:23:42 UTC

Very far. Perhaps before the invention of fire.

2018-10-04 16:23:52 UTC

@Max Bianco - NY It's a theory called epigenetics.

2018-10-04 16:24:24 UTC

Wait no, is that right?

2018-10-04 16:25:01 UTC

Yeah, it is. part of that field of study anyhow

2018-10-04 16:25:20 UTC

"epigenetic memory" or "epigenetic conditioning" is what @The Eternal Anglo is referring to.

2018-10-04 16:26:07 UTC

@Max Bianco - NY Scientists hypothesize it's the reason we have natural fears, to dangers in the enviornments our ancestors lived in. Not just for humans, but for animals in general

2018-10-04 16:26:26 UTC

@The Eternal Anglo very interesting

2018-10-04 16:26:32 UTC

@Deleted User We could also call in "Genetic memory"
Another term for it, coined in 1978 by Wilder Penfield, is "Racial Memory"

2018-10-04 16:30:43 UTC

Hence we know how to feed from our parent as a baby, why giant tigers and bears are dangerous creatures, etc. In my opinion, I think this is why we have a natural inclination to have a liking for certain aesthetics and cultures. Certain birds know how to exactly make certain nests with certain materials, and I don't think humans are too far off from the same thought process, either.

2018-10-04 16:33:41 UTC

Seems very similar to "instinct", just a cooler name for it.

2018-10-04 16:35:38 UTC

Instinct is hardcoded into our DNA though. How? Why?

2018-10-04 16:35:41 UTC

Epigenetics.
