There's an activist organisation called GetUp in Australia. I must signed up to an email list when I was a retarded teenager, this is an email they sent out tonight

Hey insert name, this has been a strange email to write. 

But then, normal has felt worlds away since election night. 

Normally when an email from GetUp lands in your inbox it's to ask you to write to an MP, or join a rally, or chip in to bring one of our strategies to life. Today's ask is a whole lot simpler. 

The result last saturday really threw me. I have so many questions and thoughts about the election. I reckon you probably do too – and I'm hoping you'll share them. 

For the last two weeks, every report of extreme weather or unseasonal conditions has felt like a slap in the face. Every time I turn on ABC breakfast radio there's this faint worry that our national broadcaster now has an expiry date.

And every day, people I love are grappling with another three years of a government ready to score cheap political points by attacking them for the colour of their skin, who they pray to, their gender, or who they love. 

I'm so keen to get back to work fighting for the change that matters. But first, we need to take some time to figure out what happened, and where everybody is at.
