And here we are now at a stallmate

2017-11-10 11:25:41 UTC

If we act we get accused of nation building If not we get accused sitiing idle why others are commiting genocide

2017-11-10 11:28:51 UTC

My point was, most of those countries can only be fixed by a very drastic change, like a revolution, or foreign imposition, because they have very effective systems in place to prevent gradual improvements. At least it looks like it.

2017-11-10 11:29:25 UTC

I bet most of them would love to turn into South Korea or Japan.

2017-11-10 11:29:49 UTC

Or it end up as Afganistan

2017-11-10 11:48:21 UTC

@DanielKO DigitalSoujou and AsianBoss have some videos interviewing NK defectors

2017-11-10 11:52:18 UTC

One of em brought up a point about the differences in "pressure" between SK and NK society. In NK it's clearly in a bad way, but there's greater emphasis among family members caring for what they do have. Whereas living in SK, for a young college student age guy like him, you're expected to be isolated and nose to the grindstone in your studies so in that sense he was happier in NK than SK(Though obviously plenty of reasons to enjoy SK over NK)

2017-11-10 11:55:57 UTC

Well yeah, when your life consists of worshipping dear leader, finding shoes to eat for dinner, and trying not to get sent to the labor camps, of course there will bea heavy emphasis on family cohesion and support

2017-11-10 11:58:28 UTC

That's like saying it's good to live under tyranny because you don't have to worry about making life choices. Because you don't have any.

2017-11-10 11:59:22 UTC

That also was the general feeling under socialism here

2017-11-10 12:00:21 UTC

Well yeah, when your life consists of worshipping dear leader, finding shoes to eat for dinner, and trying not to get sent to the labor camps, of course there will bea heavy emphasis on family cohesion and support

2017-11-10 12:00:26 UTC

Nowadays its looked back with nostalgia. Everybody had work. Just had to go to school no hard choices to make

2017-11-10 12:27:52 UTC

Being responsible for your own destiny is stressful. But also rewarding.

2017-11-10 12:49:04 UTC

It's also white supremacy

2017-11-10 13:00:05 UTC

2017-11-10 16:35:36 UTC

this is why religion needs to die, what has the church done that isnt objectively awful that makes up for being responsible for thousands of deaths annually?

2017-11-10 16:36:17 UTC

there is literally nothing religion does that can't be done by secular means and with the added benefit of not requiring the death of millions

2017-11-10 16:36:42 UTC

Well, it helped take us out of the quagmire of the Stone age I guess

2017-11-10 16:37:21 UTC

yes but it singlehandedly caused the dark ages

2017-11-10 16:37:48 UTC

we are several hundred years behind technologically because of the catholic church

2017-11-10 16:39:00 UTC

to this day we're still finding books the church either banned or wrote holy text over that have mathematical formulas or scientific discoveries that were re-discovered hundreds of years later

2017-11-10 16:40:44 UTC

the church has fought human progress tooth and nail, its time for them to go

"The meeting came about through a series of exchanges between Trump Jr. and a Russian publicist who knew the Trumps; that publicist suggested that Trump Jr. meet with a Russian lawyer who could provide opposition research on Hillary Clinton, damaging Hillary and helping Trump. “I love it,” Trump Jr. replied.

The meeting itself was a bust; apparently Veselnitskaya provided no opposition research on Hillary Clinton, instead making vague allegations and spending most of her time talking about the repeal of certain anti-Russian sanctions. But now Reuters reports that Veselnitskaya met with Fusion GPS on the day of the Trump Jr. meeting, both before and after the meeting — and that the file she handed to the Trump campaign was compiled by Fusion GPS. Fusion GPS is, of course, the same firm that Hillary Clinton’s campaign paid inordinate sums of money to dig up anti-Trump material later compiled in the so-called Steele dossier."

2017-11-10 19:47:24 UTC

Why is it that eveything that the dems accuse the reps doing is done by them too?

2017-11-10 19:47:40 UTC

Pure projection

2017-11-10 19:47:54 UTC

I've been intending on shooping that scene from the Hunt for Red October where the Russian sub winds up torpedoing itself

2017-11-10 19:48:06 UTC

Assuming noone else beats me to it, it seems now is as good a time as any

2017-11-10 19:55:56 UTC

Like, now it's the rape accusations season, everyone is coming out saying he/she was raped by someone

2017-11-10 19:56:26 UTC

#metoo

2017-11-10 20:02:05 UTC

What's weird about this whole 'metoo' thing is that 'metoo' used to be a perjorative, basically implying that you were fraudulently jumping on someone else's legitimate bandwagon. To see it now used not only as a hashtag, but as a hashtag about sexual fucking assault... is puzzling, to say the least

2017-11-10 20:03:55 UTC

Queer used to be offensive, right?

2017-11-10 20:07:00 UTC

yes

2017-11-10 20:07:53 UTC

2017-11-10 20:09:57 UTC

you mean it's not now?

2017-11-10 20:10:39 UTC

it used to be not offensive too

2017-11-10 20:11:10 UTC

2017-11-10 20:11:11 UTC
