Why was he just wandering aimlessly around on a pier? With a firearm? And just randomly decided to fire *one* shot from it?

I Remember watching one of Louis Theroux's documentaries set in South Africa, where a criminal states he once put a child in a microwave and threatened to turn it on in order to extort money from the parents.

So they *did* charge him with manslaughter? I didn't think it'd be possible to do murder *and* manslaughter at the same time - part of the point of manslaughter is it's easier to prove than murder. Seems the prosecution went with an all-or-nothing approach and wound up with the latter
