Just part of the checks and balances.

2018-08-04 02:36:47 UTC

It's why Trump could stop the EO Obama put in place for Iran.

2018-08-04 02:37:17 UTC

Otherwise, if it had been an approved senate item, he'd not have been able to go back on it.

"The courts can strike down any law if it does not comply with the Constitution, but they cannot make law."

2018-08-04 02:42:31 UTC

"If Congress does not like an executive order then its only option is to pass a new law limiting the order’s specific actions, and/or limit/end funding for the order’s implementation. But any such law will need two-thirds majority support in the Senate to be safe from the president’s ability to veto legislation."

2018-08-04 02:43:40 UTC

"If Congress does not act, or is unsuccessful in changing the law, then the other option is to challenge the legality of the executive order in the courts."

2018-08-04 02:45:44 UTC

Cant the courts strike down an EO?

2018-08-04 02:47:38 UTC

Only if it's unlawful.

2018-08-04 02:48:14 UTC

And no, I don't think ending DACA can be considered unconstitutional.

2018-08-04 02:48:24 UTC

It's... not a part of the constitution.

2018-08-04 02:49:21 UTC

And no, I don't think ending DACA can be considered unconstitutional.

2018-08-04 02:49:48 UTC

I don't think DACA was signed into law.

2018-08-04 02:50:01 UTC

It's just policy, not legislation.

2018-08-04 03:06:05 UTC

DACA was an executive order. It's essentially a law *'freeze'*, telling ICE to not enforce existing laws.

2018-08-04 03:20:20 UTC

It was a great way to get around the votes that would've stopped such a bill from becoming law. :/

2018-08-04 03:24:38 UTC

I'm going to a gun show tomorrow. It's going to be fun.

2018-08-04 09:04:12 UTC

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-4970214/95-plastic-oceans-comes-just-TEN-rivers.html

2018-08-04 11:23:10 UTC
