i've gotten a few while catfishing

they just find it in the water

i dont really want them

I try not to fish near them

Or I switch to the net

But most of them are too big and old to get "caught" either way

i caught a catfish when I was a kid and before i hauled it up my brother warned me it has a defensive mechanism, and i fell for it thing cries just like a baby

i fish in a pretty big river, so it doesnt happen that often, but if i leave bait in the water when catfishing, they will find it sometimes and get hooked

they dont sting up here

the small ones can get you, but the bigger ones arent as bad because their barbs or whatever usually become dull
