I find greater mental clarity, an instant loss of 1-3 lbs (not just water weight) and some studies claim it speeds the regeneration of stem cells/helps with circadian rhythm.

2018-10-15 18:27:27 UTC

Honestly the best way to lose weight is to eat small meals around 6-8 times a day. Fasting causes your body to store more fat and caloties.

2018-10-15 18:27:36 UTC

@Huh. Curious...

2018-10-15 18:28:14 UTC

@Virgil There are several strategies for weight loss, won't be the same for everyone.

2018-10-15 18:28:22 UTC

I think fasting is better, cause you're not always around food...

2018-10-15 18:28:27 UTC

@Virgil Yeah, that's what a lot of competitive bodybuilders do, but between my schedule, and just being a creature of habit, I can't make it work...

2018-10-15 18:28:40 UTC

Lifestyle can be pretty prohibitive of 6-8 small meals too.

2018-10-15 18:28:47 UTC

I know that'd be nearly impossible for me.

2018-10-15 18:28:50 UTC

accidentally overeating on tiny meals is all too easy

2018-10-15 18:29:05 UTC

True, I certainly don't eat 6-8 small meals, usually. Maybe around 4 to 5 for me

Which is why I like Keto + IM fasting: very few rules that you must follow ABSOLUTELY with 0 gray area.

I read a bunch of studies around a year ago when I first started 16/8 that basically spoke to IMF's ability to burn the right type of body fat for energy rather than storing body fat. fasting for 24-48 increases the speed at which the body converts fat to energy. granted, that is all off the top of my head based on studies I read a year ago

I personally just sat down with a caloric intake calculator a little while back, and based on my age, height, and weight, came up with what my daily intake requirements are to lose two pounds a week, and split that into three meals. Started out at 218.2 pounds, and I'm at 194.4 now, and still goin'... 😎

2018-10-15 18:30:22 UTC

I dropped 16 pound in a months and now I'm just kinda stuck

2018-10-15 18:30:26 UTC

right, let me go pull up the yacht

2018-10-15 18:30:51 UTC

@Jacob Yeah, I hear ya. My loss is decelerating, too.

2018-10-15 18:31:01 UTC

I went back to college, lost access to momma's cooking, and dropped 15-25 pounds (depends on diet, fasting rate that week, and exercise) just from being back at college

The other day my doctor had the unmitigated gall to suggest that I needed to lose 20 pounds. The fact that he is right doesn't excuse the sneering contempt in his voice and on his stupid face.
