* panic, spazzing, frothing at the mouth *

2018-10-17 01:19:59 UTC

Yeah, weird. I was just about to ask on here.

2018-10-17 01:20:15 UTC

I haven’t read Kerns book but I have read Ancient Siege Warfare: Persians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans 546–146 BC. And it's really good for understanding the evolution of siege tactics and how it went from hoarding yourself in a fort to a tactical series of defensive positioning which actually required a lot of logistical planning @johnnyc

2018-10-17 01:20:26 UTC

Time to hop over to audible and spend some of those un-spent credits

2018-10-17 01:21:35 UTC

@Kingfish I really liked Caesar's ramp at Alesia

2018-10-17 01:22:01 UTC

@Kingfish definitely will look into that, didnt come across it in my research.

2018-10-17 01:22:53 UTC

I should really look into how genghis khan handled that situation

2018-10-17 01:23:04 UTC

because he must have been pretty swift and brutal about it

2018-10-17 01:23:21 UTC

I really hate to be that guy @TylerHess but that was Avericum

2018-10-17 01:23:54 UTC

No thanks for correcting me, it's been over a year since I read it

2018-10-17 01:24:48 UTC

Alesia was insane too

2018-10-17 01:25:08 UTC

Caesar was impressive not only by being a great general and politician but it was his ability to think quickly and on his feet that people were baffled by

2018-10-17 01:25:25 UTC

He was famous for being able to move unnaturally fast both physically and mentally

2018-10-17 01:25:49 UTC

It actually terrified the Optimates how unnaturally swiftly he made decisions with such precision

2018-10-17 01:26:27 UTC

They figured he was literally being visited by fortuna or was at the least blessed with her fortune because he was able to get himself out of anything

2018-10-17 01:30:02 UTC

@Kingfish when pompey put down the slave rebellion with no help from caesar... epic

2018-10-17 01:30:14 UTC

*whispers* maybe it's because we were paying so many of the taxes to begin with...
