I think you could list several types of crimes that are more prevalent, and more violent, in the US, than stuff like that in Europe though. But I haven't seen any statistics.

To me US is the kid who tries to be serious and adult but failing in it horribly and which has been taking way too much responsibility and cannot really cope with it all.

I see the U.S and U.K as two sides of the same coin, both come from the same cultural foundations based in enlightenment values, and need to straighten themselves out. It seems that in terms of human age that the USA is going through its edgy teenage years whilst the UK is having a midlife crisis
