I feel connected to New England, but even so, mostly due to dysfunction, my family ties beyond my parents are toast, so I'm pretty much starting anew.

Not really, if you reject patriarchy (Christianity/ western culture) witchcraft is the logical fallback. All about woman power...

It's part of a broader out of place fascination with all things European like beer, beards, bespoke art, etc etc
