lol one of the state representative candidates brags in his statement about helping pass a bill to ban rental housing discrimination

2018-10-20 20:45:11 UTC

I know who *not* to vote for

2018-10-20 20:45:25 UTC

I'm doing a write in for the congressional candidate who didnt make it onto the ballot in my district because they were pro wall and anti sanctuary

2018-10-20 20:46:25 UTC

I don't have time to research all these obscure state representative candidates

2018-10-20 20:46:32 UTC

probably just gonna go down the line Republican

2018-10-20 20:47:41 UTC

Just got another guy to apply, got confirmation while lifting. Peak IE

2018-10-20 20:48:38 UTC

if you want better candidates you have 2 choices: (1) youre the better candidate (2) someone you know is. only way that happens is by joining your local GOP & putting in qualitative time

2018-10-20 20:48:44 UTC

Who sounds better, Nathan Choi or Steve Gonzalez?

2018-10-20 20:48:48 UTC

choi

2018-10-20 20:49:11 UTC

it's a nonpartisan position, so I can't just pick the Republican

2018-10-20 20:49:22 UTC

Write in James Allsup

2018-10-20 20:49:46 UTC

lmao ya I should just write in James Allsup for all the cucky Republicans

2018-10-20 20:53:59 UTC

God, so many of these people are running unopposed

2018-10-20 20:54:27 UTC

hence: better candidates: get your guys in

2018-10-20 20:56:04 UTC

Maybe I'll run for PCO next election

2018-10-20 21:05:30 UTC

At a local level, all you have to do to get a position is show up

2018-10-20 21:07:51 UTC

I know for a fact that PCOs are chosen in election

2018-10-20 21:08:02 UTC

But I guess if the position is vacant you can just show up and claim it?

2018-10-20 21:08:22 UTC

thats bad advice: ***always*** spend qualitative time at your GOP don't just shoot for showing up

2018-10-20 21:08:57 UTC

show up squared away: well dressed, looking good, etc. Don't blow your load all at once: be a normie GOP guy. Show enthusiasm and help out every chance you get.

2018-10-20 21:09:12 UTC

the problem with a lot of positions that are full time is they pay shit

2018-10-20 21:09:29 UTC

so if youre shooting to climb the political ladder youll need to do something on the side to supplement your income

2018-10-20 21:09:49 UTC

well

2018-10-20 21:09:57 UTC

this would be kinda hard to do when I don't have a car

2018-10-20 21:10:16 UTC

see if you can carpool with someone or take the bus

2018-10-20 21:10:54 UTC

I mean... ya I could probably take the bus, but it wastes a lot of time and I don't know if I want to be walking to the bus stop in my nice clothes

2018-10-20 21:11:10 UTC

then get a car

2018-10-20 21:11:23 UTC

I can't just poof a car into existence

2018-10-20 21:11:41 UTC

I was dumb enough to fall for the university meme, so now I'm stuck being a poor college student for a few years

2018-10-20 21:12:28 UTC

you can get a good old civic for 3-4k & insurance will be around 50-100 a month for basic bottom coverage

2018-10-20 21:12:58 UTC

you wont be able to get a loan for that though or if you do the interest rate will be crazy high. usually loaning institutions really jam you up if youre getting an auto loan for less than 10k

2018-10-20 21:13:17 UTC

ya if only I had 3-4k that I could withdraw without consequences

2018-10-20 21:13:40 UTC

take the bus and save as much as you can in the meantime

2018-10-20 21:14:12 UTC

My all time high in terms of how much money I had was around $18,000 lol

2018-10-20 21:14:18 UTC

then crypto crashed

2018-10-20 21:14:34 UTC

I think I just kinda ended up back where I started, so I'm not particularly bitter about it

2018-10-20 21:29:29 UTC

@Koba Is it actually that easy to get a paid position? I was thinking of something unpaid like PCO

2018-10-20 21:30:33 UTC

honestly Im not sure about that. I was looking at entry level GOP positions for PA and they usually start around 35-40k a year with decent benefits

2018-10-20 21:30:55 UTC

state legislature here is about 90k a year plus benefits, but PA is the 3rd highest paying state legislature behind CA & NY I think

2018-10-20 21:31:26 UTC

given the pay and how the party is mostly filled with 50+ Id say its probably easy to get a spot

2018-10-20 21:31:43 UTC

Where did you find this information?
