it looks stupid

2018-10-20 20:31:34 UTC

>just don't ~~goys~~ guys

2018-10-20 20:32:21 UTC

Granted there are some really valid criticisms of republican democracy, but I think we have to engage and play with the paradigm that we've inherited.

2018-10-20 20:33:25 UTC

lmao

2018-10-20 20:33:37 UTC

there's an initiative to ban food and beverage taxes

2018-10-20 20:33:40 UTC

To be clear I'm not saying don't ever vote, or don't vote for a candidate that you actually think will do some good. I'm just saying, if presented with two options that are both garbage, both going to hurt my people and my own interests, but maybe one will do it less - no thanks. When someone decent is on my ballot, hopefully thanks in part to my own efforts, I'll definitely vote for them.

2018-10-20 20:34:02 UTC

and the "rebuttal" of the argument for the initiative says that it "reduces choice" for local communities

2018-10-20 20:34:09 UTC

what a retarded argument

2018-10-20 20:34:23 UTC

if I don't like a certain choice, wouldn't I *want* to "reduce choice"?

2018-10-20 20:37:53 UTC

wtf

2018-10-20 20:38:21 UTC

the Republican senate candidate opens her statement with "Our people"

2018-10-20 20:38:32 UTC

🤔

2018-10-20 20:39:06 UTC

In 2016 I voted straight Republican except for the House because my congressman was terrible on immigration and anti-Trump

2018-10-20 20:40:21 UTC

She also managed to include her German and Norwegian ancestry in the statement

2018-10-20 20:40:23 UTC

this is weird

2018-10-20 20:40:39 UTC

@Jacob Who is this?

2018-10-20 20:40:48 UTC

Susan Hutchinson

2018-10-20 20:40:58 UTC

I think she's fairly moderate Republican

2018-10-20 20:41:13 UTC

literally opens it with "Our people deserve better"

2018-10-20 20:41:20 UTC

sounds very identitarian

2018-10-20 20:41:35 UTC

I guess she has no chance in WA, but I like the rhetoric

2018-10-20 20:42:38 UTC

The Washington house of representatives was actually majority Republican until very recently

2018-10-20 20:43:18 UTC

she's down by 14 points lol

2018-10-20 20:43:21 UTC

ya she's not gonna win

2018-10-20 20:45:05 UTC

The party in the White House always suffers in the midterms. It's a shame though. National republicans didn't even try to help Barletta in PA and he'd be a great senator

2018-10-20 20:45:06 UTC

lol one of the state representative candidates brags in his statement about helping pass a bill to ban rental housing discrimination

2018-10-20 20:45:11 UTC

I know who *not* to vote for

2018-10-20 20:45:25 UTC

I'm doing a write in for the congressional candidate who didnt make it onto the ballot in my district because they were pro wall and anti sanctuary

2018-10-20 20:46:25 UTC

I don't have time to research all these obscure state representative candidates

2018-10-20 20:46:32 UTC

probably just gonna go down the line Republican

2018-10-20 20:47:41 UTC

Just got another guy to apply, got confirmation while lifting. Peak IE

2018-10-20 20:48:38 UTC

if you want better candidates you have 2 choices: (1) youre the better candidate (2) someone you know is. only way that happens is by joining your local GOP & putting in qualitative time

2018-10-20 20:48:44 UTC

Who sounds better, Nathan Choi or Steve Gonzalez?

2018-10-20 20:48:48 UTC

choi

2018-10-20 20:49:11 UTC

it's a nonpartisan position, so I can't just pick the Republican

2018-10-20 20:49:22 UTC

Write in James Allsup

2018-10-20 20:49:46 UTC

lmao ya I should just write in James Allsup for all the cucky Republicans

2018-10-20 20:53:59 UTC

God, so many of these people are running unopposed

2018-10-20 20:54:27 UTC

hence: better candidates: get your guys in

2018-10-20 20:56:04 UTC

Maybe I'll run for PCO next election

2018-10-20 21:05:30 UTC

At a local level, all you have to do to get a position is show up
