although this is redundant. babies are injured in circumcisions....

2018-10-29 04:31:25 UTC

At first I thought that read "Rabbi sues baby during circumcision."

2018-10-29 04:31:41 UTC

ha oh gosh

2018-10-29 04:34:42 UTC

If someone asked you why you are an identiarian what would you say

2018-10-29 04:35:15 UTC

@Ald "I value who I am and the people who brought me to where I am today"

2018-10-29 04:35:39 UTC

Interesting question, and something we should all have a quick prepackaged and well rehearsed answer for. @Ald

2018-10-29 04:36:00 UTC

"nations" instead of "people" to make it more clear perhaps

2018-10-29 04:36:18 UTC

"people" might sound too generic like I'm hiding the ethnic part of it

2018-10-29 04:36:23 UTC

sounds like a fireside chat topic. Teacher Patrick Casey on the case

2018-10-29 04:37:08 UTC

Its important to be able to talk about the difference in group identities and the importance of it, without going full race realism at that time.

2018-10-29 04:37:58 UTC

@Sam Anderson good point. Making it more about who *we* are as opposed to who *others* are will probably help

2018-10-29 04:38:05 UTC

My most solid answer has to do with epistemology and evolutionary psychology

2018-10-29 04:38:08 UTC

Too long winded

2018-10-29 04:38:46 UTC

@Ald can you boil it down to a sentence or two? Maybe not now but something to consider

2018-10-29 04:39:18 UTC

It takes time to formulate what you want to say succinctly

2018-10-29 04:39:19 UTC

Its an important balance between sounding like a super biological autist and a limp wristed "respect identities" leftist.

2018-10-29 04:39:31 UTC

Essentially we exist as organisms and everything we engage with in life is through our neurology which is genetic and we share with our people

2018-10-29 04:39:37 UTC

Truth is a perspectival folkish geist

2018-10-29 04:39:53 UTC

Biocentric worldview

2018-10-29 04:40:41 UTC

Our truth as evolved organisms is growing strength for our own kind

2018-10-29 04:40:42 UTC

@Ald nice. I don't know how normie friendly that is though.

2018-10-29 04:40:48 UTC

Exactly

2018-10-29 04:40:56 UTC

Sam Harris (yeah I know Jewish) has some interesting content on how he thinks free will does not exist because of some esoteric biological and neurological reasons. Idk how on board I am with that but its a newish perspective.

2018-10-29 04:41:51 UTC

I agree with Sam Harris' take on free will but do not discount the possibility of some x factor of freedom by some unknown mechanism

2018-10-29 04:41:55 UTC

Consciousness is very mysterious

2018-10-29 04:42:51 UTC

@Ald often reasoning is downstream from values. In explaining your worldview, what are the things you would say you value?

2018-10-29 04:44:53 UTC

I think the amount of free will varies greatly from person to person, some have little to none while others have a lot. Too much free will might actually be confusing.

2018-10-29 04:45:58 UTC

Hence existential angst felt by smart people

2018-10-29 04:46:16 UTC

@Ald I’ve only used this a few times but my usual line is: “I believe all people have a right to exist and take pride in that existence. I am an identitarian because I wish to defend and promote the interests of European Americans— that is, the very people who founded this nation, and have them achieve full representation like everyone else.”

2018-10-29 04:46:31 UTC

Blood, loyalty, strength @ThisIsChris

2018-10-29 04:46:36 UTC

I guess I'll break the mold and say I don't buy free will existing in the first place

2018-10-29 04:47:10 UTC

Yeah I agree

2018-10-29 04:47:23 UTC

Why would our brains be the one exception to a mechanistic universe of cause and effect

2018-10-29 04:47:27 UTC

On a secular worldview of course

2018-10-29 04:47:36 UTC

On a spiritual level I see something like free will as possible

2018-10-29 04:47:48 UTC

@Ald that's much easier to understand. For a normie I would use that as your base, and maybe just expand on what it is about those three things that you like about them.

2018-10-29 04:47:53 UTC

even on a spiritual level I don't buy free will existing

2018-10-29 04:48:05 UTC

Yeah I lean more toward fatalism

2018-10-29 04:48:38 UTC

Sometimes I feel like time is moving backwards to a teleological end

2018-10-29 04:49:54 UTC

Which we access through our conscious perspective that resides in our blood

2018-10-29 04:50:33 UTC

Sam is a big fan
