Australia has been best friend longer I would say.
No history of war unlike UK or Canada. History of allies in war.
Both were wildernesses tamed by Anglo-Celts (with more whites coming in later to help)

My wife studied abroad in Australia and took an elective which was Aboriginal Studies. It was all just a white guilt class teaching them about how terrible the whites were to the aboriginal peoples.
