@ophiuchus The difference is that other drugs, while bad for you, can be "fun" to people. Like, alcohol is bad for you, but it makes you have fun. Cocaine, that kind of stuff, people gain fun out of it, even though it does bad stuff to them. Benadryl literally doesn't even cause short term fun. From the stories I've read, there's absolutely nothing fun about overdosing on Benadryl.

For a while, my mom (who's a nurse) did home health (which is where people go to the houses of people who cannot take care of themselves to give them their daily medical care.) She took me with her once because I was a kid and she couldn't leave me home alone- she explicitly told me not to wander around this bedridden dude's house and I did anyway. I went into the kitchen and turned on the light- every single surface in the kitchen was covered with roaches, who scurried away from the light and made which is probably the worst sound I have ever heard.
