When you become a PECO customer, you initially pay PECO for all of these services -- generation, transmission, and distribution. If you are purchasing the electricity you use from a competitive electric generation supplier, you would pay PECO for distribution.
Besides those other companies are even more shady. They send people door to door claiming to be from their current electric supplier (Peco) and try to trick people in to switching. They often ask for a copy of your recent bill to "make sure you received a discount". In actuality they want to get your account info so they can switch you without your knowledge.
I know that probably sounds paranoid or exaderated, but it's the complete truth. It's well known to happen in my area now.
Isn't that illegal?
Yes very
Ring (as in ring video doorbell) has an app that lets you post stuff from your ring doorbell. Someone posted a clip of those people walking up, the lady points at the ring, shakes her head and they leave.
They know what they are doing is illegal
That's why they don't want to be recorded.
Why aren't they facing a class action lawsuit >.<
Well to face a class action lawsuit a law firm would have to take interest. They are only going to do that if they see a big payday. There has to be damages etc.
I think it would be more a criminal matter than a civil one
I can see the people they switch getting charged more ending up in civil court though
Well it's hard to say. They may not charge more
I'll bet very few people that they switch realize it
I'm not sure if the criminal court can award those kinds of damages? My understanding of the American legal system was that the criminal side wouldn't deal much with the compensation part of it
I could be completely wrong
Just saw this on Neighbors:

No you're right they wouldn't deal with compensation, though they can order defendants to make restitutiin
Watch that video it shows what I am talking about.
I think I know what you mean, I saw a video of one of them where some Jehovah's witnesses (or similar) came to the door, saw the sign that said no solicitors, looked sad, and walked off.
These people are specifically talking about the ring doorbell and that it records them and to be careful.
Shows cctv has its uses
Yep
I'm going to be installing a lot of cameras here soon
Gonna cost a lot, you might need to pay an on going cost of online storage as well
Yeah it is going to cost a lot
I could get them from my cable company but I think I prefer to make my own
Use my own dvr software etc
I could probably do it all for about 1000-1500
May I ask what you hope to gain out of them?
If there's several you'll be having them inside as well right?
Are there a lot of thefts there?
I park on the street. So I want to have one cam pointing from one angle and another poitign form the other angle . Basically I want to cover my car and be able to get license plates of anyone that drives down the road.
I'm expecting that ex landlord / crazy lady to key my car or something at some point.
I would like to capture evidence
And one pointed at the hallway in my apartment to see who is out there.
So three total probably
