In nova
Hipster old timey barbershops seem to be making a comeback
I’m ok with that
Always liked that old school barbershop aesthetic, very Americana
I've heard people say "in exchange for shorter sentences" and that kind of stuff
Why in exchange?
Lol
It has to be voluntary.
lol why?
Instead we’re friggin voting to give felons the right to vote again
At least in Florida
Or else it’s like “muh oppression”
Sex has to be voluntary, too, but that doesn't stop rapists
@Sam Anderson so did we
It is oppression. Eugenics argument is based solely on the fact that it's the sole cause of criminality. This obviously not true.
@Josh M. -OH Absolutely no one is saying that genetics are "solely" the cause
It doesn't have to prevent 100% of cases of criminality to be worth the effort
The solution treats it that way
I mean... I guess you could say the same thing about any solution
What is the genetic factor that contributes to criminality?
Monoamine Oxidase 2 Repeat Allele @Josh M. -OH
There's probably other alleles that haven't been discovered yet
@VinceChaos it’s literally all my fault
@Jacobare the people who have this gene that dont commit crime?
Yes, because, like we said, no one is saying genetics are the only factor
We're heading towards genetic Minority Report.
@Josh M. -OH Not valid. It's like saying, there are lots of black people who don't commit crime, therefore a white society wouldn't be safer.
Then I thank you I think it’s awesome 😆@Grossly Incandescent
Honestly, "we're heading towards" is a pretty bad argument against anything.
@sigruna14sure but we're trying to boil it down to a single factor. It's the individual vs demographic argument again.
@Josh M. -OH Are we? I'm not. Nobody I know is.
Same reason I don't like the "first step to bestiality" argument against gay marriage
In all fairness pretty much every issue we’ve discussed here would solve itself if we had sovereignty over our nation and it’s culture
For eugenics? That's what we were talking about.
There is no single factor that causes almost anything. Doesn't mean there aren't a number of contributing factors you can't mitigate to reduce incidence.
@sigruna14ok then we have to define what the acceptable risks are.
It's like saying, not wearing your seatbelt isn't the only factor that contributes to dying in a car crash, therefore might as well not wear one.
@sigruna14i understand your point but seatbelts have a wealth of data to support their efficacy.
We should just banish them to an island.
And then film all the antics
