@Jacob Not especially well and I haven't been before, perhaps I should rephrase, historically Poland was heavily influenced by the Renaissance and Western Catholicism, which tended to draw it into the sphere of Western Europe, at least culturally. However there were some cultural practices as well as the Polish language and genetics that Poland shared with Russia. So maybe the term Central Europe does have some utility after all, Poland may not quite be Western or Eastern Europe. That's generally what one of the founders of the modern Polish state Pilsudski believed.
Norway is far from being in the EU due to fishing policies. So if somehow that means less migrants to Norway bc of fish. Mkay.

Polish is my first language and I spent a good amount of time in Poland. I honestly just don't believe that Polish culture is particularly close to German compared to Russian. And, honestly, the Catholicism stuff isn't that important. @Virgil

@Jacob That's surprising, though that might have to do with being under the dominion of the Soviet Union for so long, it could have brought them closer to Russia, culturally then they had been before.

@NateDahl76 yea he was cool, but there was another guy from that town in PA that was over run by Mexicans ( I forget the name). And the polish guy would call him racist for not wanting the Mexicans there. Then I would be ask the polish guy if it would be ok if Poland was overrun by Mexicans. And he would say “ no Poland is for polish, this is America, it’s for everyone” and then he would call both of us racist.

I'm curious as to what kind of Polish Americans people are meeting out there? I hear people complain about Poles and Polish immigrants but I don't get why, I've lived in some very heavily Polish places before and never had an issue.
The only Polish American I met was...not white.

@Nerv - VA That makes sense, but to be fair most Slavic countries consume copious amounts of alcohol, that's not exclusively a Polish thing.
@Virgil apparently in Chicago all the DUI classes have stuff written in polish and English.
