I just went back up to see what caused the crusader meme.

2019-10-06 18:01:10 UTC

Swag, you need to hit the brakes on that shit.

2019-10-06 18:07:07 UTC

oof

2019-10-06 18:14:10 UTC

He made it sound like youre getting ready to be on a platter for him @Xychotic

2019-10-06 18:15:20 UTC

hey guys, would you recommend me to go back to college for computer science? I was originally going to community college for CS because I wanted to be a game dev but I got to admit that I was a slacker. Now, I want to go back to community college and get my CS certificate so I can get into cybersecurity. But is it worth it? or can I just learn by myself?

2019-10-06 18:17:34 UTC

@0supahgatovian11 Ill tag some guys for you, who can give some insight. @_KATO_ @Happy Humble Hermit @Runescape Drop Out @conker help the young chap out above if you can.

2019-10-06 18:19:03 UTC

thanks man

2019-10-06 18:22:27 UTC

hm ok, then I guess I'll start ...
I think most of game dev isn't really worth it (especially if you hear the stories from big studios, like you work overtime, to meet the crazy deadline, just to get fired or maybe hired for the next protect 😛 )

2019-10-06 18:22:56 UTC

cybersecurity is a good field I think, but again two things / warnings

2019-10-06 18:23:13 UTC

a general one about tech, I just recently send around to a few people

2019-10-06 18:23:33 UTC

think about the stuff louis says in the video ...

2019-10-06 18:24:12 UTC

louis makes a really good argument for being in tech and for some people it's better to stay out

2019-10-06 18:24:28 UTC

tbh I don't even like the term "tech"

2019-10-06 18:24:41 UTC

yeah, that's true, too

2019-10-06 18:26:43 UTC

and if you have the internal motivation, then yeah,
you can learn most of this stuff on your own, there are a ton of ressources out there,
but to get hired you need the certifications, etc
you have to find out which are the relevant

2019-10-06 18:27:18 UTC

iirc cyotee posted also a nice compilation of general CS related material , maybe I can find it

2019-10-06 18:27:44 UTC

if you can dm it to me or just tag me @conker

2019-10-06 18:28:02 UTC

what motivates you

2019-10-06 18:28:03 UTC

@conker dm that too me as well please

2019-10-06 18:28:05 UTC

to want to do computer science

2019-10-06 18:28:46 UTC

yes, exactly, watch louis' vid, and then answer this question

2019-10-06 18:30:22 UTC

I remember the link was on the pgtow server, but that damn server is gone, grrr

2019-10-06 18:37:24 UTC

@conker what happened to that server?

2019-10-06 18:38:29 UTC

idk ...

2019-10-06 18:38:42 UTC

shadow transfered ownership to jdb a while ago

2019-10-06 18:39:00 UTC

and then jdb disappeared (without notice) and with him the server -.-

2019-10-06 18:45:01 UTC

@YuriBezmenov @0supahgatovian11 my recommendation is to focus on your A+, Net+, Sec+, and CCNA certification so you can get your foot in the door at an IT job. You can take classes online after that.
Please don’t pay big bucks for college and please don’t borrow money to go to school.

you can study those certs on your own

2019-10-06 18:46:17 UTC

@conker just watched the vid and man, I remember when I was taking my intro class to cpp I managed to get a letter C grade. At that time, I didn't study that much and I mostly wasted my time on useless videos on youtube or I watched porn and fapped. I know I have to change. I'm currently learning cpp again on Udemy and I'm trying to get my act together. I guess only time will tell for me. If all else fails, then I'm just going to get into accounting but I know I probably won't like it. Since I am MGTOW, I have the freedom to choose any path but I got to admit that I am scared. I am scared of the future. I don't want to end up homeless. I am currently 23 yo and still live with my parents. I want to help my parents out. Sorry if I'm ranting. Its just that I don't have any IRL friends and yeah. This is my only outlet for friendship and to vent out

2019-10-06 18:47:34 UTC

@_KATO_ that's what I was thinking of doing as well. I like learning at my own pace so yeah. The internet has made college partially obsolete.

2019-10-06 18:53:32 UTC

@0supahgatovian11 dont worry about letting off steam. A lot of us in our early 20’s can relate.

2019-10-06 18:55:32 UTC

thanks man, appreciate it

2019-10-06 19:01:29 UTC

@0supahgatovian11 you will probably start out with desktop support positions and that’s fine.
That’s where you learn the foundations.
You can move into higher level jobs as the years go by. You will be able to talk to people in different fields and watch what they do.

2019-10-06 19:01:59 UTC

Desktop support guys are into gaming and building PCs so you will make good friends

2019-10-06 19:02:16 UTC

They are young like you so it will be perfect

2019-10-06 19:02:36 UTC

Tech isn't easy but it's so much better than doing unskilled labor

2019-10-06 19:02:44 UTC

Yes true

2019-10-06 19:03:02 UTC

I have a friend who does nothing but work and he makes 11 an hour

2019-10-06 19:03:43 UTC

I have a relative that spreads concrete. He gets paid in cash and it’s not steady work .

2019-10-06 19:03:55 UTC

No way to build a career
