I'm fluent in Spanish and I interact with a lot of Latinos due to work. Sometimes I'll say something in English and they'll ignore me. Then I'll say something in Spanish and they'll ignore me. Like hello my name is "" how are you doing seems to completely go over their heads

social etiquette is interesting. It keeps the Latin community alienated. Maybe they don't learn English because they have difficulty connecting to English speakers. It's hard to assimilate when the simplest task of introducing yourself to people seems to escape them
