Slavery by today’s standards is terrible, but the standards before we got rid of it, was literally accepted world wide. Alllllll sorts of people from different racial and ethnic backgrounds were slaves. Do we condone it with today’s standards? No, do we look at the battle flag and suddenly have pride in racism and slavery? No. So what’s the deal?

They will never see you as normal people until people stop brandishing the flag.

All slaves at that time were captured through what is called a Hedgright system. Which meant that all slaves or the vast majority of them were prisoners of war or criminals, not people capture from villages! They were always a people aught up in some kind of imperial action.
