Hey... I have been staying away from news lately because Im just over it.
BUT...
I just read that one of the Democratic Representative's Chief of Staff indicates that the "panic button" or "buttons" (it was not clear to me if there was more than one) had been removed sometime prior to the insurgence.
So... I only see 3 options
1) It was no one's "fault" and it was removed by maintenance and the Chief of Staff just didnt get the memo.
2) She is lying to get sympathy or whatever.
3) Someone with a working knowledge of the capital and where those panic buttons are found intentionally removed it in the days leading up to January 6th.
We do know one was that at one point because they had used it before (but unclear how long ago)
The odds of a maintenance person removing it by sheer coincidence just before the insurgency are astronomical, imo.
Could she be lying? Of course, people are very capable of that and it happens a lot. But if it is a lie and its ever determine that it was a lie it would be political suicide for that whole office.
Lastly.... it was intentionally removed. That means there was clear advanced planning of the insurgency (which at this point seems obvious even without this claim) AND
It means the insurgents had help on the inside - but that could be a whole host of people and not just Republican members of Congress (which seems far fetched to me)
Any thoughts?
Why would you need panic buttons when the threat comes from outside?
The panic buttons had been installed some time ago because she and some others had been getting death threats from Trump supporters after he told them to go back to where they came from.
But... I dont even understand whyou you think that matters?
The simple fact that was a panic button before the 6th and then when they tried to push it on the 6th it was gone (acutally there was more than one)
Which is actually more disconcerting. I first thought that every office had panic buttons so then anyone that had ever been a staffer of ANY Representative would have known those offices have panic buttons.
But... given that not all of the offices have panic buttons whoever removed them had to have very specific and detailed information.
Or again... maybe it was taken out for maintenance (seems extremely unlikely)
Or... she just lied (certainly possible it would not be the first time someone has lied to get sympathy)

I suppose we will find out? I have to say the amount of disinformation is what gets people in such a head spin. I have been trying to get inside the minds of all the q people and I find it absolutely fascinating, I have been trying to gather info on how they gained so much traction and it’s crazy how many rabbit holes there are. Might have to go back to school and get a physiology degree.
