This is not about one or two manipulations occurring, it is 10,000 of them happening all at once.

2020-04-27 16:38:39 UTC

There are those that wish to bring chaos into every aspect of your life.

2020-04-27 16:40:36 UTC

Flat earth is only one pathway into the mind of those that either wish to join the manipulation, or those too stupid (not too ignorant, as ignorance can be cured with knowledge) to see the truth and therefore recognize the manipulation.

2020-04-27 16:42:07 UTC

Things like YouTube act as a huge magnification lens. Those that wish to be manipulated get manipulated much, MUCH easier via YouTube.

2020-04-27 16:42:49 UTC

Those that wish to seek knowledge do indeed find more knowledge than they could ever take in within their entire lifetime.

2020-04-27 16:43:30 UTC

The problem is that many people do not have discernment.

2020-04-27 16:44:25 UTC

Not only discernment to tell fact from fiction, but also discernment to take into consideration what impact these things do or do not have in their lives.

2020-04-27 16:45:53 UTC

People become completely consumed with topics or ideas where either outcome should have very little to no impact on their lives.

2020-04-27 16:46:11 UTC

And yet they allow their lives to be destroyed by it.

2020-04-27 16:47:05 UTC

Now add 9,999 more of these manipulations to their situation.

2020-04-27 16:47:55 UTC

There are live video feeds from space that show that the earth is a sphere, yet people don’t believe it.

2020-04-27 16:49:24 UTC

There are endless calculations that have been done for 2,000 years, proving that the earth is a sphere.

2020-04-27 16:50:42 UTC

Yet some jackass with a YouTube channel and tee shirts for sale can convince millions of people around the world that the earth is flat, **WITHOUT ONE SHRED OF EVIDENCE**.

2020-04-27 16:50:58 UTC

The devil is truly at work.

2020-04-27 16:51:09 UTC

That’s what this all boils down to.

2020-04-28 07:55:10 UTC

You have a lot of anger

2020-04-28 07:57:41 UTC

Might wanna look into that first

2020-04-28 08:03:28 UTC

Just forget all the YouTube stuff. Start here

2020-04-28 08:04:18 UTC

Flat earth isnt a youtube-centric thing

2020-04-28 08:04:29 UTC

It's literally the original cosmology

2020-04-28 08:04:50 UTC

It's the wheel of cosmologies

2020-04-28 18:02:32 UTC

_A lot of anger_, eh? Is that your ‘professional’ opinion, @Rigg5? I'm stumped as to how you could come to that conclusion. I've reread all of my own postings, since you posted that Sean G vs. Travis debate video (yes, I quoted your posting of it in <#627030086964740096>, then I moved it here). I see no indication of anger from me whatsoever. Did you perhaps read what I posted while unintentionally still having an unnecessary e-rage filter installed on your input channel? Perhaps your inputs need a bit of cleaning or other maintenance, or perhaps they were simply mis-calibrated. Perhaps you simply don't know what anger is.

My replies are still up there 👆 , so please feel free to go read them again without the e-rage input filter installed. I mean, unless you also go by the name Travis and have a penchant for guys named Sean G. to make you look like an imbecile on live YouTube streams, then there should be no reason for a third party to make any strange leap in the direction that you have. In the event that you are Travis, please just go ahead and confirm it for me now. I'm confident that you'll be better off in the end.

Continuing to set the chat about earth aside for just another brief moment, why are you trying to cast a certain shade of light onto me, with this obviously false accusation of anger that you've made? I find it very interesting that you choose a personal offensive attack against me, rather than a discussion about the topic at hand. Why did you not initially choose instead to support or deny my statements about a flat earth model being incapable of explaining the many line items that I listed right off the top of my head? Are you Travis?

Now, regarding the link you posted of Hickson's _Kings dethroned_ book, perhaps you didn't know that this book has been entirely debunked. (Or perhaps you did know, but you were hoping that I did not…) The content within this book was considered so spectacularly wrong, that in 1989 it was classified by the archivists at MIT as a member of their "Nut Collection". In case you’re wondering what that means, it is a loving term for useless research that has absolutely **NO BEARING** on the scientific community.

Maybe the archivists at MIT have _a lot of anger that they might want to look into_, too.

2020-04-28 18:08:14 UTC

> Hickson’s work is not alone in that collection, but it certainly stands out for its spectacular inaccuracy and the high degree of hubris it displays. Today’s, Hickson’s view (and his prideful certainty) that the earth is quite close to the sun, is considered almost laughable. Indeed, it may even sit aside other erroneous theories such as that old view that the earth is flat. However, what makes Hickson’s views more easily criticized is that he was working in a time with access to more data and better scientific equipment to avoid such erroneous conclusions. Further, Hickson was indeed overly prideful when he wrote his work and it makes his own inaccuracy all the much more ironic. He had proclaimed that his work would dethrone the great ‘kings’ of the field. However, their reigns were left solidly in tact and rather than sitting atop his own throne, he is considered to have no relevance in the field (aside from being a footnote example of faulty findings).

2020-04-28 18:08:31 UTC

> As a modern reader, with sometimes limited time, you may wonder if you should put forth the effort to read Kings Dethroned. In many cases, yes you should make the time. The book is iconic for putting forth erroneous information and it does highlight the hubris of a man who thought he had it all figured out. If you are in the field of science, why not read a book that will broaden your understanding for the field and the scope of its history. Hickson’s work should not just be a footnote of inaccuracy, it should be considered as a work that does have a place in the history of the development of the field of astronomy. When you read the book King’s Dethroned, you may find yourself sometimes feeling astonished at Hickson’s thought processes, conclusions, and written statements. Read it as a bit of scientific history. Read it as a source of entertainment. Read it so you have some fun trivia to share at parties. Finally, read it as a warning against exercising any similar levels of hubris in your own scientific work.

It is not surprising that flat earthers consider Gerrard Hickson, the overconfident, arrogant, blundering idiot that he was, to be their godfather.

2020-04-28 19:36:15 UTC

Im sorry, i missed any of the evidence in that monologue

2020-04-28 19:39:05 UTC

Evidence of what?

2020-04-28 19:39:13 UTC

You posted a video.

2020-04-28 19:39:17 UTC

I addressed the video.

2020-04-28 19:39:33 UTC

You gave me a personal attack, then linked to a debunked book.

2020-04-28 19:39:44 UTC

Now you ask me for evidence of some kind.

2020-04-28 19:39:46 UTC

I posted a friends debate stream because i was being nice

2020-04-28 19:39:52 UTC

Perhaps you need to learn how to communicate.

2020-04-28 19:40:05 UTC

A friend?

2020-04-28 19:40:43 UTC

I suppose it doesn't matter which one was your friend.

2020-04-28 19:41:08 UTC

But I was under the impression that you wanted folks to see the content of said stream, then comment and discuss it.

2020-04-28 19:41:12 UTC

Was I mistaken?

2020-04-28 19:41:13 UTC

Ahh yes that video. It presented evidence. Did you watch it?
