Desegregated schools lowered the standard for education so much
Imagine how intelligent we’d all be right now in segregated schooling
all races and ethnic groups do better when segregated into their own communities among their own
Gender segregated too. Every study has shown both boys and girls do better in gender segregated classes. But educators still integrated because of their equality religion
I’ve heard everyday, very intelligent white guys unironically say they wish we had school segregation
Girls and boys need to learn different subjects anyways
Like don’t get me wrong there’s a lot of prominent female scientists and male chefs, but generally that isn’t the case
the top of everything = men
My problem with gender segregation is that guys would grow up without social skills to talk to girls
I place such a high value on my 7th-12th, private, 99% White, all male high school. the most formulative years of my life were perfect when segregated into gender and racial groups
Young boys especially need more physical activity
and they need competitive structure with clear right and wrong answers
and they need less emphasis on writing and verbalizing
I remember feeling myself get stupider the more I was forced to verbalize.
@Jacob That's only under the assumption that school would be their only contact with girls? 🤔
that's what you get with no real community
Verbalizing and writing is important to climbing social ladders, in jobs and otherwise
there was nothing better than competing in every single way, academically sports music etc, and not having to deal with the gender differences in communication and understanding. I miss it
we just communicate so differently, it was weird and uncomfortable having to go back to integrated classes at college
@Deleted User I mean, I'm an only child, so I probably would have had almost zero contact with girls if not for school
sister schools
@Perihelion - CA I mean I guess, but you have to trust parents to set that up
Unless the school somehow enforces it
Nah you could make it part of the schedule
that's what sister schools are @Jacob
Okay, good argument
Today is Thanksgiving in the United States. (turkey, football, relatives you don't like)
I am thankful for the fact that what is now the United States got its start as English colonies. I have a special place in my heart for Edward III. He is largely responsible for "due process."
1354: 28 Edward III 3: “Item, that no man of what Estate or Condition that he be, shall be put out of Land or Tenement, nor taken nor imprisoned, nor disinherited, nor put to Death, without being brought in Answer by due Process of the Law.”
Thanks, Ed. You helped keep a lot of ordinary people from being screwed.
Basically boys and girls go to the same school but their classrooms are segregated
I debated one guy on this who just gave me stupid answers like "they'll just figure out how to talk to girls they don't need contact"
But ya if they actually forced them together after school I could see that working
you can socialize outside of class but inside class you're focused on learning with a curriculum tuned to your gender's developmental schedule
genetic differences don't stop at race
but race don't do the real
it has social construct
Also I'd design the school system and employment laws so that highschoolers could get jobs on graduation
Nothing about even white collar jobs requires college education
public private partnerships are perfect for that
designing the curriculum so that they learn every skill needed for their job upon graduation. ensure they have internships with the relevant companies and industries each summer leading up to graduation so that they have more than the book knowledge necessary to perform in their field.
A big reason companies demand college is actually EO laws. They can be sued for using testing or other credentials
If you want to incentivize private investment into education, cutting off skilled immigration would be great for that
