They provide a down to earth sanity check on theory because they usually have good instincts even if they can’t articulate them well

2018-11-22 21:42:11 UTC

On one side, I want automation to happen because it'll get rid of immigrants, but, on the other side, I don't want working class native whites to be harmed

2018-11-22 21:42:30 UTC

Automation is overblown and not a huge problem. It’s nice to countersignal it sometimes and be aware of the downsides, but the cost of trying to stop it is staggeringly high too.

2018-11-22 21:42:41 UTC

Agricultural automation is the place to start

2018-11-22 21:42:42 UTC

No magic political wand is going to fix it.

2018-11-22 21:42:59 UTC

Very very multifaceted complex issue

2018-11-22 21:43:04 UTC

No one solution

2018-11-22 21:43:37 UTC

Innovation is inevitable. We need to keep adapting and moving people into productive fields. I personally support guaranteed universal employment. Even if someone is just picking up trash or painting buildings, it's useful and cheaper to society than sitting around getting into trouble or drugs

Industrial revolution 2.0

2018-11-22 21:44:13 UTC

Whatya think?

Go turn the great plains back into a forest via mass replanting effort. There's plenty of work to do.

2018-11-22 21:44:38 UTC

I’d support the gov saying “no we’re not going to automate Truck driver jobs”

2018-11-22 21:44:50 UTC

Teddy Roosevelt style

2018-11-22 21:45:02 UTC

North America is reforesting faster than ever already

2018-11-22 21:45:14 UTC

Industrialization means more efficient farms and less land needed

2018-11-22 21:45:26 UTC

How about this:
1. lol who cares just automate stuff anyway
2. immigrants become obsolete
3. create social programs to make up for the unemployed natives

2018-11-22 21:45:50 UTC

Agrarian America was better than industrialized America idc

2018-11-22 21:45:55 UTC

Reducing the employment requirements for office work would be huge

2018-11-22 21:46:04 UTC

@Fred X - NJ hahaha! That article is too much..

2018-11-22 21:46:04 UTC

make it way easier to retool your career

2018-11-22 21:47:28 UTC

@Isabella Locke-MT that's a tasty looking bird

2018-11-22 21:47:52 UTC

You could come try it 😀

2018-11-22 21:47:59 UTC

I used Gordon Ramsay's recipe

2018-11-22 21:48:32 UTC

There's absolutely nothing about the work H1B visa indians are brought into to do, that the average truck diver couldn't do with a little professional education.

2018-11-22 21:49:53 UTC

eh

2018-11-22 21:49:57 UTC

I think that's a stretch

2018-11-22 21:50:11 UTC

These H1B guys are not smart

2018-11-22 21:50:24 UTC

Look, some white people are really dumb

2018-11-22 21:50:28 UTC

That's just the truth

2018-11-22 21:50:39 UTC

And it still requires *some* intelligence to do basic computer work

2018-11-22 21:50:46 UTC

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! As members of IE, this day is of significant importance to us. It's not just about football and turkey, it is about loving our nation and being thankful for the men and women who came before us and built what we have!

2018-11-22 21:50:47 UTC

More the bottom 10% of white people has

2018-11-22 21:50:50 UTC

Most truck drivers aren't that dumb

2018-11-22 21:51:07 UTC

they just realized they could make 60k out of highschool instead of paying 150k to make 60k 4 years later

2018-11-22 21:51:13 UTC

The worst thing I’ve noticed is that young whites are terrified of applying to jobs and failure. I struggle to find them. That’s their fault, or our cultures. Meanwhile Mexicans apply in masses

2018-11-22 21:51:40 UTC

Mexicans with no college degrees are sometimes more competitive than a white because the whites won’t even apply.

2018-11-22 21:52:14 UTC

It has to do with social shame. If you come from a middle class family a job that pays too little is more shameful than no job at all

2018-11-22 21:52:22 UTC

Yes ^

2018-11-22 21:52:26 UTC

Great point

2018-11-22 21:52:32 UTC

Though we do pay well, and still...

2018-11-22 21:52:44 UTC

I agree though I’ve seen that far too often.
